Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou criticised the team for conceding poor goals during the 4-2 Premier League loss to Wolves. Postecoglou condemned the team’s knack for conceding easy goals after their 1-0 loss to Chelsea in the Premier League clash.
Spurs conceded an early goal in the second minute, followed by an own goal from Djed Spence in the 38th minute. They fought back in the 59th minute through a goal from Mathys Tel but conceded again in the 64th minute.
Richardlison scored a goal in the 85th minute to take the game to 3-2 until Matheus Cunha scored Wolves’ fourth goal in the 86th minute of the game. The disastrous game highlighted all the vulnerabilities that Spurs have displayed throughout this season.

Spurs drew 1-1 in the first leg of the Europa League draw against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Lilywhites have faced a similar problem with their defence throughout this season, showing no signs of improvement under Postecoglou.
Speaking to Tottenham Hotspurs’ official sites’ Review Show, Postecoglou criticised the easy goal conceded by his starting players against Wolves. He said:
“Yes… today was just guys making errors, who, to be fair, have been pretty good for us this year. It all happened in one game, and we got punished for it.”
Spurs are currently 15th in the Premier League table, well below their stature and reputation, with just six games remaining. While the Europa League remains their source of salvation for this season, such poor performances by the players are unacceptable.
Spurs need to improve the quality of their defence before they face Frankfurt in the crucial second-leg away clash during the midweek in the Europa League competition. The potential triumph in the competition would also secure their spot in the next season’s Champions League, a crucial target.

Postecoglou rested Mickey Van de Ven, Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro during this game, keeping Frankfurt’s clash in mind. However, Tottenham needs to get their act together as they still played a strong side against Wolves that failed miserably.
