Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham have a season-defining game against Eintracht Frankfurt on the horizon
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is struggling to get results this season. The Lilywhites are on their way to record the lowest points total in the club’s history. It can safely be said that this season has turned out to be a disaster for Spurs and the shortcomings on the pitch are for all to see. Ange’s men sit in the bottom half of the Premier League table and are nowhere near the top ten.
Perhaps it is too late now for Ange Postecoglou to experiment new tactics and new formations, with a massive game against Eintracht Frankfurt on the horizon. But fans will wonder why the Australian manager did not change his system when the results were not going their way earlier in the season. The North London club have lost more games than they have won in the league and bizarrely, the tactics remain the same.

With tough fixtures coming up in the league and the club hovering just above the relegation scrap, it is not bizarre to say that Ange’s men might end up 17th when the Premier League season ends. That just shows the massive decline the club has endured during the 59-year-old’s tenure at N17.
William Gallas wants Tottenham to be unpredictable
Tottenham face a crucial second leg game against Frankfurt in the Europa League quarter-finals. Ange Postecoglou’s job is also on the line and if Spurs lose then it is certain that the 59-year-old will get sacked. The Lilywhites were quite unlucky not to win the first leg, as they hit the post thrice and forced the goalkeeper into making two outstanding saves.

William Gallas wants to see a change in setup by Ange Postecoglou. The ex-Spurs player said in an interview with Slingo,
“Postecoglou has tried to find his best XI and get his team to perform, what he did at the beginning of last season was incredible. His tactics and style of football is incredible, but you can’t do it every game. The opponents now know how Tottenham play and Postecoglou doesn’t have a plan B. It makes them predictable.”
Gallas has urged Postecoglou to have a plan B for the upcoming game against Frankfurt. The former Tottenham player also suggested that the style in which Ange’s side operate has become predictable. He suggested that the way Big Ange wants the team to play is not possible every game, and sometimes the tactics need to change depending on the opposition.

With Ange Postecoglou’s fate hanging by a thread, one can only assume what approach he uses for the crucial Europa League game. Will the Spurs manager stick with the same setup and tactics? Or will Big Ange tweak a few changes and take a gamble? Only time will tell. The 59-year-old will hope that his side can carve out a win regardless on Thursday.
