Paris Saint-Germain have set a €20m valuation on Milan Skriniar amid interest from Tottenham and Fenerbahce
Tottenham Hotspur fell to a 4-2 loss at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, casting further doubt over Ange Postecoglou’s future at the club as they suffered their 17th defeat of the Premier League campaign.
A season of underperformance and injuries has left Spurs with just the Europa League to compete for, having already been knocked out of all domestic cup competitions, and the attention is now on planning for what could well be a busy summer transfer period.
It is no secret that the North Londoners need more quality and depth in the defensive unit. Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven have not played much together in central defence this season owing to their respective injury issues. Not to forget, Romero has been heavily linked with an exit at the end of the campaign, with Atletico Madrid planning to sign the 2022 World Cup winner.

Radu Dragusin is unlikely to feature again this year following an ACL rupture in February, while Ben Davies is out of contract this summer. Thus, the Hotspur Way chiefs are scouring the market for defensive reinforcements ahead of the forthcoming summer transfer window.
Now, according to a report from CaughtOffside, Tottenham are chasing the signature of Paris Saint-Germain defender Milan Skriniar, who is currently on loan at Fenerbahce. The centre-back has been performing well in Fenerbahce colours and is planning to leave Paris Saint-Germain permanently at the end of the season, thus putting several European clubs on red alert.
The Slovakian international has regained his mojo in Turkey after falling out of favour at PSG under Luis Enrique in the first half of the season. He has made 16 appearances across all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce thus far, scoring two goals and supplying as many assists.

The aforementioned report adds Fenerbahce are planning to open formal negotiations with PSG to sign Milan Skriniar permanently. Other than the Turkish outfit, the likes of Crystal Palace, Everton, Wolves and Bournemouth are also monitoring the 30-year-old’s situation, meaning Tottenham face stiff competition to get his signature.

In Skriniar, Tottenham would get a central defender with volumes of experience, proven pedigree, winning mentality and leadership skills. He may have entered the 30s, and that would go against the profile of signings the North Londoners have targeted in recent years, but he could have a great impact on the squad—both on and off the pitch.
If Spurs lose Romero in the summer, we must not hesitate to replace him with Skriniar, who has the qualities to address some of the glaring defensive problems next season. Valued at around €20 million by PSG, Tottenham must push hard to beat Jose’s Fenerbahce to sign the Slovak star. And should Daniel Levy decide to replace Ange Postecoglou with a new manager, he’d love to have a fantastic leader and organiser in Skriniar at the back to rebuild the squad.
