Tottenham fans will be eager to see Luka Vuskovic in Lilywhite next season
Tottenham Hotspur’s new signing Luka Vuskovic is having a fantastic season at Westerlo. The 18-year-old has cemented his place at the back and is one of the first names on the team sheet under Timmy Simons. The centre-back is making waves in Europe this season, and Spurs managed to strike gold when they fended off competition from other clubs and bought him in 2023.
However, the Lilywhites could not bring him to N17 immediately due to the Brexit rules as he had not turned 18 yet. This was the perfect opportunity for Tottenham to send him on loan to gain valuable experience and then join the club in the summer of 2025. The Croatian centre-back has made full use of that opportunity and has become a key part of the Westerlo team.

Spurs, on the other hand, have struggled to get going this season and have suffered at the back. At one point, Ange Postecoglou had to deal with injuries to his whole first-choice back line. The Tottenham manager had to play players out of position to fill the void left at the heart of the defence. So, the arrival of Luka Vuskovic will only be a positive for the North London club.
Luka Vuskovic is willing to fight for his place at Tottenham
Tottenham fans will be pleased to see Luka Vuskovic showing immense talent while playing for Westerlo this season. As per Sofascore, the Croatian centre-back has played in 30 games in all competitions this season, scoring seven goals and providing one assist. The 18-year-old also has an 85.2% passing accuracy and made 26 crucial interceptions.
Now, Vuskovic is eager to showcase his talents at N17. When asked if he was ready to fight for his place next season, the Tottenham loanee told L’Avenir (via Sport Witness), “I think it’s possible, even though there are already world-class players, like Van de Ven and Romero. I want to take it step by step: finish the season well at Westerlo, then earn my place at Tottenham, and then we’ll see what the future holds.”
The 18-year-old is desperate to prove his worth at North London, and it is clear to see why he trusts his own talents. With the likes of Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero still at the club, Vuskovic was fast to acknowledge that he will have to earn his place and fight for it. The centre-back also suggests that he wants to finish the current season strong at Westerlo and then think about the future.
Luka Vuskovic will fit in perfectly at Tottenham as well. The youngster likes to play out from the back and has a brilliant passing range. His aerial presence is also impressive, and the 18-year-old likes to get into ground duels. The ability to position himself correctly in a high-line is very crucial for a defender at N17, and Vuskovic ticks that box for them.
