Fabrizio Romano: ‘Ange Postecoglou will stay at Tottenham as long as UEL title hopes remain’

Ange Postecoglou manages to survive at Tottenham for the time being

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou was pleased on how his team played in a crucial game on Thursday. The Lilywhites caused a massive upset as they knocked out Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League quarter-finals. It was a near perfect game by Ange’s men, and for once Spurs fans will be happy that the team stepped up when it mattered the most.

Spurs faced a massive challenge as they headed to Germany for the second leg of the quarter-finals. The North London club were not in good form and had just faced an embarrassing defeat against Wolves in the Premier League. So, the task of getting a result against an in-form Eintracht Frankfurt was an uphill task for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Ange Postecoglou manages to survive another day at Tottenham.
Will Ange still have the Tottenham job next season?

However, to everyone’s surprise, Ange’s men played a perfect game and managed to win the game 0-1. A first half penalty from Dominic Solanke was enough to make sure that the Lilywhites progressed through to the Europa League semi-finals. It was a tremendous effort from everyone involved and the tactics from Big Ange were spot on. It was clear to see that the Aussie had learnt from his previous mistakes.

Ange Postecoglou survives at Tottenham yet again

With the Lilywhites heading into their first European semi-final in six years, it is only fair to say that Ange Postecoglou deserves to lead the players till the end of the season. The North London club has not had much joy this season, so lifting the Europa League trophy will just be what the fans and players need to make it a memorable season. Spurs also have a great chance of ending their trophy drought this year.

Talking about what the Europa League success means for Ange Postecoglou’s future at N17, Fabrizio Romano shared in his GIVEMESPORT newsletter,

“As I always said, the focus is on the Europa League, so this was always the case [that Postecoglou will be in charge while they are still in the competition].”

The renowned journalist suggests that the Tottenham manager will be at the helm while his team are in the Europa League. It was earlier reported that Daniel Levy had given an ultimatum to Big Ange regarding his future at the club. The Spurs chairman had told Ange that the only way the Australian could save his job was by winning the Europa League. Well, it seems that the condition is still in place.
