Tottenham ready to splash big to sign Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo
Tottenham Hotspur are anticipating another busy transfer window after last summer’s spending spree, when they broke their transfer record to sign Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth.
Lack of quality and squad depth have been one of the major worries for Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou, and the coming summer is looking to be one of the most important transfer windows in recent years. The fans will be hoping that Daniel Levy and his team make some impactful, top-flight, proven signings to lift the Lilywhites and help them compete for a European spot next term.
There have been multiple players linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. One of those has been among Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo.

The Ghana international has been in fantastic form so far this season with eight Premier League goals and four assists in 32 appearances, as Bournemouth push for a Champions League spot next season. He has established himself as one of the exciting attackers in the English top flight in the last couple of seasons, but with rising interest, the Cherries do not look like they’d be able to hold him for long.
According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Tottenham are willing to pay €60 million to sign Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth. The N17 bosses ‘believe’ his profile fits what Ange and his coaching staff are looking for—a dynamic goalscoring forward who can contribute from various areas of the attacking line.
Semenyo is a left-winger by trade but can play on the opposite side and through the middle as a No.9. The African ace combines his pace, power, strength, dribbling and energy to cause all kinds of problems to the defenders. He works extremely hard off the ball too, using his physical strength and stamina to press opponents and retain possession in the opposition’s half. This makes him such a key cog in Iraola’s high-pressing, aggressive system at Bournemouth.

Ange also wants dynamic attackers who can constantly press and win the ball higher up the pitch, which would make the Cherries’ man a good fit at White Hart Lane. At 25 years of age, the Ghanaian has entered the peak year of his career and is highly coveted in the Premier League.
Semenyo’s productivity at the Vitality Stadium over the last two seasons is strong proof that he could play a crucial role for Spurs if signed. If the North Londoners want to compete for the Premier League and other trophies, they need to focus on both the long-term and short-term solutions.

Thus, a move for the Bournemouth forward makes sense, and if Levy manages to increase the transfer budget by making some important sales in the summer, paying €60 million for a seasoned campaigner like Semenyo would not be an issue at all.
