Tottenham poised to offload Pedro Porro to finance summer transfer plans
This season has fallen well short of expectations for Spurs. With their dismal domestic form leaving them out of the top 10, their only remaining hope lies in the Europa League. In response to the disastrous campaign, the Tottenham board is planning a major summer rebuild, which includes the potential sale of several players.
TBR Football exclusively reported that Tottenham Hotspur are now open to selling Pedro Porro if the right offer comes in. Porro began his English football career with Manchester City in 2019 and made his return to the Premier League with Spurs four years later.

Across all competitions this season, Pedro Porro has played in 46 matches under Ange Postecoglou, scoring three goals and providing eight assists as the main right-back. Aside from an unfortunate injury like many of the Spurs players, Porro has been a consistent member of the starting XI, but Djed Spence could be threatening Porro’s place in the team. Spence took the opportunity to shine at left-back during the last few months when Destiny Udogie was away and is now demanding to have a starting place on either flank in the Postecoglou defence.
A prudent move?
According to TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey, Tottenham are open to selling Pedro Porro this summer if they receive an offer exceeding £50 million.
With Djed Spence emerging as a genuine contender for the starting role, Spurs are reassessing their squad and budget ahead of a crucial transfer window. Although the club has managed its finances well, they remain mindful of Premier League PSR regulations, and Porro is viewed as a potential candidate to help balance the books.
Tottenham plan to strengthen their squad across multiple positions, and to fund those reinforcements, they are prepared to sanction one or two high-value departures.
Manchester City have closely monitored Pedro Porro’s development and are now in the market for a new right-back to replace Kyle Walker this summer.
Although Porro was on City’s books in the past, he never featured for the senior team before the club sold him to Sporting CP.

Regarding Porro’s future, both Juventus and Bayern Munich reportedly consider the Spaniard useful in their respective projects. Tottenham invested about £40 million to bring him back to English football in 2023, with a view to implementing Antonio Conte’s wing-back into his style of play. Since his return from injury, Porro has arguably been their best player. To lose him would be a big loss, and the thought of moving forward without Porro on the right really would not bode well for the Lilywhites in the future.
