Jamie O’Hara shares his blunt take on growing speculation linking Scott Parker with a return to Tottenham as manager
Tottenham are enduring a difficult spell, currently sitting 16th and well outside the top 10. Despite having a genuine chance of winning the Europa League, reports suggest Big Ange is set to be sacked regardless of their European run. With Scott Parker now linked to the Spurs job, Jamie O’Hara reacted to the rumours during his appearance on TalkSPORT.

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be searching for a new manager this summer, with Ange Postecoglou likely to face the sack in the coming weeks.. regardless of how Spurs fare in the Europa League. Many feel Daniel Levy is justified in considering this decision, as Postecoglou’s future was in question months ago, and their current league standing only reinforces that argument.
Scott Parker has now emerged as a candidate for the job. Reacting to the links, Jamie O’Hara shared his thoughts and revealed that he would actually welcome Parker’s appointment. Having worked with him at Fulham, O’Hara described Parker as a brilliant leader and believes he could be a good fit for Spurs.
O’Hara approves of the former Fulham Captain
Jamie O’Hara, talking on TalkSPORT, was in favor of Scott Parker potentially coming in at Spurs. O’Hara played with Parker at a time at Fulham, and called him a top pro and great leader. O’Hara also mentioned how he liked Parker’s identity and style of football, and feels that it would work for Spurs. Given the size of the job, the former midfielder admitted it might be a big jump to take on at this stage for Parker in his managerial career and that he wouldn’t be against him getting the chance, just suggesting it could be the platform Parker could use to cement himself.
Speaking to TalkSport, the former midfielder thinks Parker is the right fit at Spurs
“Now, this is interesting, it says Ange is set for a summer exit as Spurs keep tabs on Parker,”
“I think I’d like Scott Parker. I think I’d like Scott Parker at Tottenham. There’s something about him, I’ve worked with Scott, I’ve been in the dressing room with Scott, he’s a top bloke, a brilliant captain, his football I like, his identity I like. Is it a step too far early doors? Maybe, but maybe he needs a platform like Tottenham.”
“I think he’d be alright, I wouldn’t mind it.”

Despite the turbulent spell Parker and O’Hara shared at Fulham under Kit Symons.. where the club teetered on the brink of relegation to League One.. his positive reflection is surprising. Fulham were in disarray during that time, and while leadership has its limits, Parker didn’t exactly inspire a turnaround on the pitch. Still, it’s clear O’Hara sees something in Parker’s character and style that could translate better in a different setting.
