Tottenham are actively planning to move on midfielder Yves Bissouma at the end of the season
Earlier this season, a serious injury crisis hit the Tottenham Hotspur camp hard, which left Ange Postecoglou with a thin squad to select his starting XI. The Spurs boss struggled to pick players as per his liking in several games and had to also promote many youngsters to the bench to make up the numbers.
In the absence of several key players, the Australian tactician would have expected many of his senior stars to step up and help the team navigate through the crisis. One of those who had an opportunity to shine and nail down his place in the XI but failed was Yves Bissouma.
Yves Bissouma has endured a hugely inconsistent time at Tottenham since arriving from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2022. The 28-year-old’s performances at Brighton led Spurs to splash the cash on him, hoping the player solves their midfield conundrum. But that has not happened, as the midfielder has failed to live up to the lofty expectations at N17.

The Mali international is on course to enter the final year of his contract (Transfermarkt) in July. Now, according to an exclusive report from TBR Football, Spurs are ‘actively working’ to offload Bissouma this summer. He is almost certainly going to be a part of the squad revamp.
It seems Ange Postecoglou, as well as the Hotspur Way chiefs, have grown frustrated with the central midfielder’s underwhelming displays this season. He has made 37 appearances across all competitions but failed to cement his spot in Big Ange’s first XI, starting only 23 games.
Ange has preferred the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Bergvall, Pape Matar Sarr and Dejan Kulusevski as options ahead of Bissouma in the middle of the park. Having fallen down the pecking order this term, the African enforcer’s time at White Hart Lane appears to be coming to an end.

The aforementioned report adds that Tottenham are working on options to move Bissouma off their books. The Ivory-Coast born midfielder has suitors from the Saudi Pro League, along with Spanish and Italian clubs.

Set to enter the final year of his contract, Spurs must try to get a decent fee from Bissouma’s potential sale this summer. Apart from Saudi, Spanish and Italian clubs, Aston Villa have also shown an interest in the Malian. The more clubs show an interest in signing Bissouma, the better for us.
