AC Milan are willing to sell Tottenham Hotspur-linked Malick Thiaw to fund a move for Bologna winger Riccardo Orsolini
It has been widely reported over the last few weeks that Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero during the summer transfer window.
Romero, a key player for Ange Postecoglou’s side, has also held private talks with Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone over a potential move to the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium. The prospect of a summer move to Atletico for the Argentine was boosted even further last week, when he admitted that he would love to play in La Liga.
The 2022 World Cup winner is one of the best defenders in the Premier League when fully fit, and running, and replacing him would be a difficult job for the Hotspur Way chiefs. AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw has emerged as a target for Tottenham ahead of the summer transfer window.

Malick Thiaw has been a regular fixture in the AC Milan backline in what has been a disappointing season. He has made 30 appearances across all competitions, registering a goal and an assist apiece thus far.
The Germany international is also wanted by the likes of Newcastle United, West Ham United, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, so Spurs face an uphill battle to convince him to move to North London. Now, Tottenham and the other suitors have received an update regarding the future of Thiaw.
According to a report from Tuttosport (h/t Milan News), Milan are planning to push ahead with a move for Bologna winger Riccardo Orsolini this summer, and in order to fund that transfer, they have decided to listen to offers for Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori.
This update on Thiaw should give Tottenham a big boost. The 23-year-old has shown quality on the ball and leadership skills at Milan since arriving from Germany a couple of years ago. He is still relatively young from a defender’s point of view and easily has his best years ahead of him. The Dusseldorf-born talent has a mix of technical ability and physical attributes to flourish in the high-intensity nature of Premier League football.

At 23, Thiaw will perfectly fit into the category of signings the Lilywhites have made in recent years. However, as he has not played in the Premier League before, there would be a bit of risk element attached to his transfer, but the fact that he has played in the highly competitive Serie A must help.

As Milan are ready to sell their talented centre-back to land one of their summer targets in Orsolini, Spurs must act quickly and beat their rivals for Thiaw’s signature. The Serie A side want a fee of €25-30million to sell him, and that price for an exciting young defender with potential should represent a bargain deal.
