Lucas Bergvall to probably miss rest of season with injury at Tottenham- Ange Postecoglou

Tottenham have suffered a big blow with Lucas Bergvall expected to miss the rest of the season with ankle injury
Tottenham Hotspur have struggled to find any sort of consistency and rhythm in Ange Postecoglou’s second season in charge of the club.
Spurs have been languishing in the bottom half of the table for several months, and there is every chance they finish just a place or two above the relegation zone. In contrast, Ange Postecoglou and Co. have been solid in Europe. The Lilywhites took a step towards qualifying for the final by beating Bodo/Glimt 3-1 in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final at home on Thursday evening.
At this critical juncture of the season, where the North Londoners are totally focusing on the Europa League, they have been dealt an injury setback. Addressing the media after the 3-1 win over Bodo/Glimt, Postecoglou confirmed that Lucas Bergvall will probably miss the rest of the campaign with an ankle ligament injury.

“Yeah, Lucas obviously looks like the injury is significant enough to probably keep him out for the rest of the season. Yeah, just tweaked ligaments in his ankle, so he is out,” Postecoglou told Football London.
Lucas Bergvall was seen in a protective boot after the Bodo/Glimt first leg, owing to an injury sustained in training earlier this week. The teenager, who recently penned a new six-year contract with the club, has become one of the key members of Postecoglou’s side. Under the guidance of Ange, the young gun has taken massive strides in his development.
He has been putting in influential displays in the middle of the park in recent months that kept the likes of Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr out of the first XI. The Sweden international has exceeded expectations in his debut season at White Hart Lane.

The central midfielder has made 45 appearances across all competitions to date, including 27 in the Premier League. Bergvall has also chipped in with a goal and four assists for the North London outfit. Unfortunately, as per Ange’s words, the teenage prodigy has suffered an injury which could prove to end his first season in North London.

It will be interesting to see what that means for the likes of Bissouma and Pape Sarr between now and the end of the season, but there is no doubt that Bergvall’s season-ending injury is a huge blow. Tottenham did suffer some fitness scares against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday, with James Maddison and Dominic Solanke being forced off the pitch with issues.
