Tottenham-linked Celtic striker Daizen Maeda is wanted by newly-promoted Premier League club Leeds United
Tottenham Hotspur are already laying the groundwork for a busy summer as they prepare to reinforce the squad ahead of next season.
Chairman Daniel Levy is expected to oversee a significant squad revamp, with several senior players likely to depart after a disastrous 2024/25 Premier League campaign. Timo Werner will return to RB Leipzig after his loan spell expires, while the futures of Son Heung-min and Richarlison remain up in the air.
Club-record signing Dominic Solanke, who arrived from Bournemouth last summer, has not been a regular source of goals. Injury issues have hampered Solanke’s progress and continuity, leading to a return of only eight Premier League goals in 25 outings. This leaves the North Londoners in need of a more reliable presence up front next season.

Spurs have been showing an interest in Celtic striker Daizen Maeda. They feel that Ange Postecoglou’s strong relationship with the Japanese international, having previously managed him at Celtic, could play a key role in luring him to White Hart Lane in the summer.
Daizen Maeda is a versatile attacking player who has played predominantly as a left-winger this season but has also operated as a centre-forward for Celtic. The 27-year-old has been arguably the Hoops’ best player this campaign, bagging 33 goals and giving 11 assists in 47 matches in all competitions.
However, the Japanese star’s goalscoring exploits in Scotland have not gone unnoticed. According to an exclusive report from TBR Football, newly-promoted Leeds United are interested in signing Maeda, along with two other Celtic stars, this summer. They have scouted the Taishi native earlier this season and are now preparing to make a move.

Leeds United have enjoyed an incredible season in the Championship and are now back with the big boys. Daniel Farke has done a great job at Elland Road and deserves to be backed fully in the transfer market to help the Whites maintain their top-flight status next term.
Newly promoted teams often create a sense of excitement and buzz for players to join their projects, and the same could happen with Maeda, who has been with Celtic since January 2022. After proving himself in the Scottish Premiership, the South Asian star would be tempted to test himself in the Premier League.

As the 27-year-old forward is expected to be available for around £25 million, competition for his signature is constantly growing. Leeds are the latest entrant in the race to sign Maeda. That said, Levy must act quickly if we are genuinely interested in bringing the Celtic ace to White Hart Lane this summer.
