Man United star Marcus Rashford has decided to snub Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur will be active in the summer transfer market. The Lilywhites need to bring in reinforcements in the summer to strengthen the squad. The North London club has endured a tough campaign in the Premier League and sit 16th in the league table. It is fair to say that many players have underperformed and need to be sold once the season ends.
Spurs need to sign some quality forwards for next season. Ange Postecoglou’s side have struggled in the final third of the pitch and many key attackers have just not gotten going this season. Last summer’s statement signing Dominic Solanke has found life difficult at N17 and has failed to find the back of the net consistently. However, the England international has found his goalscoring touch again in recent games and he is starting to show his true potential.
Other forwards have also struggled to make an impact this season. Club captain Heun-Min Son has just not managed to find a rhythm and fans have felt frustrated with the winger’s lack of involvement in the final third of the pitch. Mathys Tel has also not got going and has already been left out of the starting eleven a few times, despite arriving at the club in January.
Tottenham fall behind in the race to sign Marcus Rashford from Man United
Tottenham have been interested in signing Marcus Rashford in recent weeks. The Lilywhites believe that the England international would be a perfect replacement for Heung-Min Son and he would also elevate the quality of the attack. The Manchester United star is currently on loan at Aston Villa, after falling out with Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.
The Villains have an option to make the loan deal permanent in the summer for £40million. However, Football Insider reports that the 27-year-old does not want to move to Villa Park as he intends on playing Champions League football next season. This has seriously dented Tottenham’s hope of signing the prolific winger as well. Rashford’s salary demands are also deemed to be a problem for Daniel Levy.
The England international is considering a move to Barcelona instead. Spurs will need to win the Europa League this season if they want to stand a chance of signing Rashford in the summer. The North London club will need to exceed the wage budget as well to afford the winger’s salary. Daniel Levy will need to decide quickly if he wants to sign the Manchester United outcast or not.
Signing Marcus Rashford would be a good move for the Lilywhites. The winger has proved time and again that he is one of the best wingers in the Premier League. He would be an ideal player for Ange Postecoglou’s setup, as he thrives in transitions and counterattacks. The 27-year-old has an explosive pace and likes to dribble past defenders. His shot power is second to none, and Rashford is very efficient in front of the goal.

However, Spurs will suffer financially in the long term. It is not a feasible move by any means, even if Ange’s men qualify for Champions League football next season. So, should Daniel Levy consider signing Rashford in the summer?
