Exit linked star thrilled at donning Tottenham jersey as childhood dream comes true.

Pedro Porro continues to be excited while playing for Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has put all the eggs in the Europa League, and it was reflected in his decision to rest several key players in the 1-1 draw with West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday.

Ange Postecoglou has to go all out to win the Europa League. Failure to do so would not only have ramifications on the future of the Australian boss, but may also lead to concerns over the futures of several first-team stars.

Spurs bosses have some big decisions to make on players they want to sell and keep. Amidst an injury crisis that mostly affected the defensive unit, Pedro Porro has been the only defender to not miss a single game due to injury this season. The right-back has made 47 appearances across all competitions. He has supplied three goals and nine assists in the process, and been a mainstay in the North London side’s defence.

Pedro Porro has been a consistent performer for Spurs under Big Ange

Pedro Porro is now a key player for Tottenham, thanks to the consistency he has managed to bring into his game over the last two seasons. Since arriving at N17 on loan from Sporting Club de Portugal in January 2023, it has not been smooth sailing for the Spaniard, including an underwhelming debut for Spurs.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with DAZN, Porro has reviewed his career in England. The Don Benito-born star has admitted he still gets excited playing for the North London club as it is a reward for the hard work and perseverance to get there.

“I’m left with a bad moment, which was my debut here, because that gave me the extra boost of saying: I have to take a step further (…) It gave me the extra boost of being able to enjoy the Premier League today,” Porro told DAZN.

“To this day, my hair still stands on end when I see where I am. It’s true that there’s a lot of work behind it.

“Other people might call it luck, or whatever, but from the first moment I told my family I wanted to be a footballer, I dreamed of experiencing moments like this, in a stadium like this, and at a club like this. It’s something I’ve had in mind since I was a kid.”

Indeed, Porro has been one of the first names on the teamsheet under Big Ange. In a season where players have dropped out of the team due to injury problems, the Spanish full-back has managed to keep his fitness intact and deliver the goods for Spurs. This is a testament to his fitness levels.

Unsurprisingly, Porro’s impressive performances in a White shirt have gone unnoticed, with ex-employers Manchester City keen to re-sign him. While he has made some errors when defending, the full-back is an asset overall to the team and should be held onto this summer.
