Tottenham have received a boost in their pursuit of Rangers striker Hamza Igamane

Tottenham Hotspur are preparing for a busy summer window as they look to rejuvenate Ange Postecoglou’s squad further after an underwhelming Premier League campaign, which currently sees it languishing 16th in the table.

Spurs have been linked with numerous players over the last few months. They did strengthen the squad in the January transfer window with three new faces, and are further planning to add more quality and depth to their roster. One player who has been linked with a move to White Hart Lane is Rangers striker Hamza Igamane.

Tottenham have been keeping tabs on the performances of Hamza Igamane since the turn of the year. The Moroccan international has enjoyed an impressive debut season at Rangers after signing from FAR Rabat for just £1.7 million last summer, with 15 goals and three assists in 44 appearances to his name thus far.

After just one season at the Ibrox, though, the Rangers chiefs could look to offload him. According to a report from Football Insider, Rangers’ new owners could decide to move on several players in a bid to boost their summer transfer budget, and Igamane is viewed as the most valuable asset. The Scottish giants would consider any bids for the African centre-forward, but any sale would bank a significant profit on the 22-year-old.

The Gers willing to listen to offers for their star striker is a boost for Tottenham. The N17 bosses have been looking to bring in a new striker at White Hart Lane, given the injury problems to Richarlison and the massive dip in Son Heung-min’s form and fitness levels. Not satisfied with the performances of Richarlison, Son and Timo Werner, the club are open to offloading the attacking trio in the upcoming summer transfer window.

If they manage to succeed in getting rid of them, Tottenham will have to replace them adequately in their squad. Igamane, in that regard, would be a good fit. With his physicality, pace and power, the Moroccan has been a real handful for defenders in the Scottish Premiership.

More Tottenham Hotspur News:

At 22, he is nowhere near the finished article and could need time to adapt to the demands of Premier League football. A senior striker in the form of Dominic Solanke would be perfect for Igamane’s development. A move to the Premier League should entice him, providing him with the platform to showcase his talent and potential.

That said, Daniel Levy should do everything possible to get Igamane’s signature as he would be a solid option to cover and compete with Solanke up top next season.
