Exit-bound Tottenham star attracting significant attention ahead of summer move

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to listen to offers for Yves Bissouma this summer
Tottenham Hotspur have exceeded expectations in Europe, in sharp contrast to how their Premier League campaign has panned out. They overcame Bodo/Glimt 5-1 on aggregate to book their ticket in the Europa League final in Bilbao, where they will face Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United.
It remains to be seen what happens in the Europa League final on May 21, but the Hotspur Way chiefs have started planning for the upcoming season. Before recruiting new players, offloading the deadwood has to be the club’s priority.
Yves Bissouma is on course to enter the final year of his contract (Transfermarkt) at White Hart Lane. The African midfielder has struggled to cement a place in the Tottenham XI since arriving from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2022. He was highly regarded during his time at Brighton, and Tottenham decided to take a punt going by the enforcer’s performances.

However, the move has not worked out as everyone associated with the North London club would have hoped. With him set to enter the final year of his contract, an update regarding the future of Yves Bissouma has come in front of us.
According to senior Football Insider transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke, Tottenham could accept offers for Bissouma during the summer transfer window. Several clubs are keeping tabs on the 28-year-old’s situation at Spurs, and O’Rourke has urged fans to “keep an eye on this” evolving transfer situation.
The Mali international has struggled to cement his place in Ange Postecoglou’s first XI this season, starting 26 of his 40 appearances so far. He deputised well for the injured Lucas Bergvall in Tottenham’s 2-0 away win over Bodo/Glimt in the second leg of the Europa League semis on Thursday evening.

Spurs decision-makers feel this summer would be their best chance to cash in on Bissouma and raise funds as no progress has been made over a new contract yet. Doubts over his current role in the side and long-term future at N17 have emerged, while Daniel Levy is expected to target midfield additions when the transfer window reopens in June.

Aston Villa have been showing an interest in the Malian star in recent weeks. Cash-rich Saudi Pro League are keeping tabs on Bissouma’s situation, while clubs from Italy and Spain also remain keen. The ex-Brighton star has fallen down the pecking order this season and is expected to be offloaded.
Genoa’s Morten Frendrup has been viewed as a potential replacement for Bissouma. Having scouted him well throughout the season, the Lilywhites may well decide to go for the offensive for Frendrup, who at 24, is open to a move away from Genoa at the end of the campaign.
