Tottenham Hotspur’s injury list is piling up once again, and undoubtedly at the worst time of the campaign.

There is nothing much left to play in the Premier League other than pride. However, the players have seemingly checked out of the Premier League as the Lilywhites suffered their 20th defeat of the campaign—a 2-0 loss to London rivals Crystal Palace at home.

Spurs suffered an injury setback against Crystal Palace on Sunday. Dejan Kulusevski sustained a knock on his knee that was serious enough to force him off the pitch in the 13th minute, with academy starlet Mikey Moore replacing the Swede. Ange Postecoglou has given a positive update on Kulusevski’s citing it as a “knock” and subsequently he was not seen at Hotspur Way during training on Monday.

The latest footage of training on Monday has provided yet another scare ahead of Tottenham’s Europa League final against Manchester United at San Mames Stadium in Bilbao. The footage of Brennan Johnson going down in training will have provided even more concern for Ange Postecoglou and the Tottenham fans.

Sergio Reguilon was shot taking out Brennan Johnson at Hotspur Way, with the Welsh forward forced to sit out for a while after the challenge before resuming training again. In response to the footage, Postecoglou told Football London:

“I don’t know if you saw training but we had Reggy slide tackling Brennan Johnson and they were on the same team!

“It seems to be how our season has gone. You want to protect the integrity of training. Thankfully nothing too serious. We just have to hope and pray to the football gods.”

At this stage, Johnson’s injury was just a knock sustained through Reguilon’s slip. There is nothing to worry about, but as the Europa League final looms large, Ange will be anxious about his squad’s overall fitness.

The Australian tactician has already lost Lucas Bergvall and James Maddison to season-ending injuries. Son Heung-min returned to the squad on Sunday after six games and more than half an hour, which should do well to help him regain his fitness levels. Kulusevski was not spotted in training on Monday, as expected.
