Tottenham need to bring in reinforcements in the upcoming transfer window
Tottenham Hotspur are facing a busy summer ahead. The Lilywhites have endured a disastrous campaign and it is fair to say that the North London club is facing a massive squad overhaul in the summer. Ange Postecoglou’s men have just not got going and many key players have massively underperformed for most parts of the campaign.
Spurs need to reshuffle their squad once the season ends if they want to close the gap on their rivals next year. The Lilywhites are 17th in the Premier League table, and fans are also demanding a change in the squad after a series of humiliating results this season. Daniel Levy will need to be proactive heading into the transfer window, as Tottenham must adopt the ‘sell-to-buy’ policy due to the disastrous domestic campaign.

The North London club needs to be prepared to lose some of the key players to get the house in order. First-choice centre-back Cristian Romero has already hinted at an exit once the season ends, and the Argentine is also linked with a move to Spain in the summer. Along with Romero, Richarlison is another player that has underperformed and he is linked with an immediate exit from N17.
Tottenham need to bolster the squad depth
Injuries and inconsistency…. that has been the story of Tottenham’s season so far. The Lilywhites have lost many key players through long-term injuries during crucial parts of the campaign this year. Some would argue that injuries are a part of football and Spurs should have been aware of that. While that is correct, it is also important to note that the lack of squad depth to fill the void left behind by the injured players has hampered the performances on the pitch.
When asked about which areas Tottenham need to focus on to try and improve, ex-players Michael Dawson told Gambling.com (via Spurs Web),
“That’s a big question. Defensively, when everyone is fit, they’re as good as anyone. I think they need another player in a wide area, because if you have Champions League football next year, you saw how challenging this year has been [with European football as well as domestic fixtures].”

Michael Dawson has urged Tottenham to focus on adding more squad depth in the summer as the Lilywhites face the prospect of playing European football next season. The ex-Spurs player also insisted that the Lilywhites need to focus on bringing a wide player in the transfer window as the wingers have underperformed this year under Big Ange.
Spurs are linked with a few wide area players as they look to bolster the attack. With Heung-Min Son facing an uncertain future and Timo Werner heading for the exit doors, Daniel Levy is trying to add another player to the attacking lineup. It was reported earlier that the Lilywhites are linked with Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich. The Lilywhites are also linked with Lyon star Rayan Cherki as they look to strengthen the wide areas.

Fans will hope that the issues are addressed quickly in the summer and Spurs can compete at the top end of the Premier League table next season. The decision regarding Ange Postecoglou’s future also needs to be sorted out quickly by Daniel Levy before proceeding for any transfer deals.
