Tottenham targeting RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko as Richarlison replacement

Tottenham Hotspur have managed to win the Europa League this season against all odds. The Lilywhites beat Manchester United 1-0 in the final and ended the club’s 17-year wait for a major trophy. Winning the competition also meant that the North London club ensured Champions League qualification for next season. This might just prove to be a key factor in luring potential targets to N17 in the summer.

Fans will hope that Daniel Levy will bring in new signings in the summer to build on the Europa League success. The North London club must ensure that they do not get complacent in the transfer window as the Europa League win might just paper over the cracks at Hotspur Way. Many key players have underperformed this season and it is fair to say that Tottenham need to cash-in on them quickly.

Last summer’s statement signing Dominic Solanke had admitted earlier this year that he found life tough at N17 after arriving from Bournemouth. However, the England international has found his mojo again and he is showcasing his talents consistently. But the same cannot be said about backup striker Richarlison. The Spurs No.9 has just not got going this season and has fallen down the pecking order under Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham are keen on signing RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko

Tottenham are looking to bring in a new striker in the summer to address the problems in the attack. With Richarlison likely to head out once the season ends, the Lilywhites will need to sign a quality replacement that could compete with Dominic Solanke for a spot in the starting eleven.

As per Fichajes, Spurs are interested in signing Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig in the summer. The Lilywhites view the prolific striker as the perfect player to fill in the attacking void left behind by Richarlison. Daniel Levy also believes that Sesko would provide the perfect competition to Dominic Solanke next season for a spot in the starting eleven.

The aforementioned report also adds that RB Leipzig’s failure to qualify for European football means that the 21-year-old will head for pastures new in the upcoming transfer window. It was reported earlier that Arsenal were also interested in signing the Slovakia international for next season. So, Daniel Levy will need to fend off competition to land Sesko in the summer.

Signing Benjamin Sesko would mean that Dominic Solanke’s place in the starting eleven would be in jeopardy. Ange Postecoglou prefers to play with a lone striker and only one of the two would be selected to start the game. However, the Slovakia international would surely bring in a different dynamic to the attack for the Lilywhites.

The RB Leipzig star would fit in perfectly at N17. The 21-year-old is efficient in front of goal and can score various types of goals. He is great at positioning himself in the box and can also score from long-range shots. The greatest aspect of his game is running in behind the defenders to create chances for himself. The Slovakia international also tends to retain the ball well to create space for his teammates and has good aerial presence in the box.
