Everton backed to join the transfer tussle for out-of-favour Tottenham Hotspur star

Tottenham are actively planning to offload Yves Bissouma this summer amid plenty of interest

Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a squad revamp after a disastrous domestic campaign that saw them finish a lowly 17th in the Premier League.

The Europa League success turned out to be a saving grace for the North Londoners. However, even that hasn’t assured Ange Postecoglou of his position at the club, with reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano stating that a decision over his future is set to arrive very soon.

The Lilywhites have some deadwood to clear off to make space for fresh blood in the squad. One player whose future at the club remains uncertain is Yves Bissouma.

The Mali international’s performances at Brighton and Hove Albion led Tottenham to splash the cash on him in the summer of 2022, hoping the player solves their midfield conundrum. But that has not happened, as the midfielder has failed to live up to the lofty expectations at the North London club. He endured another hugely frustrating season with Spurs.

With Yves Bissouma entering the final year of his contract, the Hotspur Way chiefs are reportedly planning to cash him in this summer. It is revealed that the African enforcer is attracting plenty of interest from the Saudi Pro League, while clubs from Italy and Spain are also keeping tabs. However, his Premier League career may not be just over yet.

According to reliable GIVEMESPORT chief correspondent Ben Jacobs, Everton could enter the race for Bissouma’s signature. The Toffees are in the hunt for new central midfielders and the Spurs star is one who they could target.

“Bissouma is aware of this volume of interest, even Everton, I’m told, could come into the mix because they’re going to be losing a couple of midfielders and also looking to strengthen in that area,” Ben Jacobs said on the Last Word On Spurs.

David Moyes has done a fantastic job since returning to Everton after 12 years. He took in charge of the club in January 2025 and helped them finish at a respectable 13th spot after the Merseysiders were battling in and around the relegation zone before his arrival. Having released Abdoulaye Doucoure, the Scot is perhaps looking to replace him with a rather combative presence in Bissouma.

More Tottenham Hotspur News:

The Malian could provide some much-needed bite and tenacity to the Everton engine room, potentially forming a strong partnership with Idrissa Gueye. Staying in the Premier League remains on the ex-Brighton man’s agenda rather than moving to Saudi Arabia at the peak of his powers, and Everton could prove him with that platform.

That said, the Hotspur Way chiefs must now hope that the Toffees enter the mix and come up with a decent offer to sign Bissouma.
