Tottenham actively scouting Champions League winner with 40 goal contributions as €100 plus deal beckons

Tottenham Hotspur have extensively scouted Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola in recent months

Tottenham Hotspur have work to do in the summer transfer market after an extremely underwhelming Premier League campaign, which resulted in the club’s lowest-ever finish. Ange Postecoglou was often forced to look out for makeshift solutions, due to injuries in the first-team squad.

The North Londoners are in need of creativity, flair and pace in wide areas following the inconsistency and injury problems of Son Heung-min and Richarlison. Son’s performances were not up to his usual standard and he also struggled with fitness, while Richarlison’s injury problems continued at N17. Also, Mathys Tel, who joined on loan from Bayern Munich, couldn’t impact the games in the final as much as he would have liked to.

While Spurs are contemplating signing Tel permanently from Bayern albeit for a lesser price than his buy option, it looks like the club are planning on adding another winger to their roster. According to an exclusive report from CaughtOffside, Tottenham have extensively scouted Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola in recent months. Arsenal and Manchester City have also been monitoring his performances at Parc des Princes.

Bradley Barcola was a sensation at Lyon after breaking into the first team during the 2021/22 season. The 22-year-old was snapped up by Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023, and after a decent campaign, he exploded this past term with 40 goal contributions in 59 appearances. The Frenchman was a key cog in Luis Enrique’s brilliant side that won the treble, bagging the Ligue 1, Champions League and French Cup in the process.

Barcola’s stunning rise in stature hasn’t gone unnoticed across Europe, leading to several clubs vying for his signature. Despite being reduced to 24 minutes off the bench in the 5-0 drubbing of Inter Milan in the Champions League final last week, he remains a vital member of Enrique’s squad and PSG have no intention to sell him this summer.

The aforementioned report adds the French champions would only consider selling him if they receive offers at over €100-120 million, a figure that mirrors his high potential and value to the team’s current and long-term project.

PSG have built a formidable side under Enrique and will want to fortify it further this summer by adding top talent. Barcola has performed very well in both Ligue 1 and Europe, which has seen several European bigwigs scout him over the past campaign.

The 11-cap France international would be a fantastic addition to Tottenham ranks, but as PSG are reluctant to sell him and have slapped a mammoth price tag, the Lilywhites must look out for other alternatives to strengthen their wide department.
