Tottenham have been dealt a blow in their hopes of landing Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo
Tottenham Hotspur are yet to kick off their summer’s transfer business after ending the last season on a high.
Spurs lifted the UEFA Europa League trophy in Bilbao in May by beating Manchester United 1-0 in the final. They will compete in the Champions League next term, and Daniel Levy must try to use the elite European competition to lure top talents to N17 this summer.
The North Londoners do need a new attacking option. Richarlison could leave Spurs in the near future, while Son Heung-min did not have the best of seasons in a Spurs shirt either. There is a high possibility that the Europa League final was Son’s last appearance in a Tottenham shirt, with the club chiefs ready to cash in on their skipper should they receive a big offer amid Saudi Arabia interest.

The Ange Postecoglou-managed club have been linked with several attackers in recent weeks and months, and one of them is Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo.
Antoine Semenyo has grown into his own as a left-sided forward in the last 15 to 18 months at Bournemouth. The Ghana international has scored 20 goals and given 10 assists in 87 appearances for the Cherries so far in his career, impressing with his flair, pace, physicality, directness and two-footedness. He is also versatile in nature, having operate out wide, as a wing-back and No.9 at the Vitality Stadium.
Thus, it is easy to see why Tottenham are among Semenyo’s admirers. However, according to an exclusive report from GIVEMESPORT, Bournemouth will not entertain sanction the sale of Semenyo if they see further key members of their squad head through the exit door in the coming weeks. They have slapped a £75million price tag on their African star, having been alerted to Spurs and other sides circling for his signature.

Bournemouth have already lost Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid, and are on the verge of selling Milos Kerkez to Liverpool. Marcus Tavernier is the latest player to have been linked with an exit from the Vitality Stadium, with Newcastle United and West Ham vying for the winger’s signature.
Andoni Iraola will not want to let his squad be decimated after a strong 2024/25 season which saw his team challenging for the European places. This means Tottenham’s pursuit of Semenyo could be in risk if West Ham or Newcastle can agree a deal for Tavernier, adds the aforementioned report.

Spurs perhaps view Semenyo as a dynamic addition to address their attacking woes, potentially replacing underperforming stars like Richarlison, who has been linked with a return to Everton. But as Bournemouth are unlikely to sanction the Ghanaian’s departure, the Hotspur Way chiefs have to look elsewhere in a bid to bolster their attacking department.
