Tottenham make enquiries for Serie A defender valued at €40 million

AS Roma defender Evan Ndicka has emerged as a target for Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur are facing a summer of big change with Ange Postecoglou having been sacked and Thomas Frank close to replacing him.
Daniel Levy wants Thomas Frank to become the next Spurs boss, and the Lilywhites are accelerating their plans to finalise a deal. The Danish tactician is set to have a huge say on what happens at the club in the transfer market. However, even before his appointment, it looks like the North Londoners are checking in on players.
Now, according to a report from French outlet RMC Sport, Tottenham and Manchester United have made enquiries for AS Roma defender Evan Ndicka. The left-footed-centre-back, valued at €40 million, intends to take time to evaluate all the offers.

After five strong seasons in the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt, Evan Ndicka made the move to Italy and signed for AS Roma in the summer of 2023. He has performed very well across two seasons for AS Roma, proving a strong presence at the back. This past campaign saw the Ivory Coast international play every minute of all 38 league matches without being substituted.
Unsurprisingly, the 25-year-old has attracted attention across the continent, with Spurs and Man United making their interest felt with enquiries. A left-footed centre-back –, who can also be deployed at left-back –, with a commanding presence and strong ball-playing ability, Ndicka is 6ft 4in tall and could be a smart option to improve Tottenham’s defence.
The North London club’s defensive problems were well-documented this past season, with none of their players delivering consistent performances. Injuries played a big part in disrupting the rhythm and stability, leading to Ange’s team conceding goals at an alarming rate.

They have completed the permanent signing of Kevin Danso from RC Lens, but with Cristian Romero linked to an exit, Radu Dragusin out for the foreseeable future with an ACL rupture and Micky van de Ven yet to prove his fitness at N17, Tottenham are crying out for defensive reinforcements.

Potentially under Frank, Ndicka would be a good fit as he can operate in a flat back four or in a back-three system. The Ivorian would also bring much-needed cover for the injury prone Van de Ven, and he seems robust having played every single minute of Serie A football during the 2024/25 season.
Valued at €40 million, Spurs must not hesitate to splash the cash and get Ndicka from Roma.
