Incoming Tottenham boss Thomas Frank could have a big say on the future of club icon Son Heung-min
A new era is upon Tottenham Hotspur. Despite being the man to guide the club to a trophy after 17 years, Ange Postecoglou was shown the door last week by Daniel Levy.
Thomas Frank has been chosen to guide the Lilywhites into a new, and hopefully successful, era, having impressed during his seven-year spell with Brentford. The Dane’s appointment is yet to be confirmed but he looks set to take the keys of a club that endured its worst-ever finish in the Premier League.
So, he faces a difficult task of not only improving the North Londoners’ performances in the Premier League next term but also making them competitive in the Champions League. And ahead of him succeeding Ange Postecoglou, the 51-year-old has seemingly received good news.

According to an exclusive report from TBR Football, Tottenham captain Son Heung-min is ready to play under incoming boss Thomas Frank. However, if the pair decide to move him on, he is also prepared to leave the club.
Speculation about the South Korean’s move has recurred every season, but the possibility of a move away from North London is more tangible than ever this summer. The versatile forward turns 33 next month and is beginning to show signs of decline in the fast-paced and physical nature of English football. He netted 11 goals and supplied 12 assists in 46 appearances during the 2024/25 campaign.
Clubs from Saudi Arabia have started circling Son Heung-min. The aforementioned report adds that Saudi Arabia’s Pro League have held talks with the Spurs skipper’s representatives ahead of wanting him, while there is also interest from clubs in Germany, Spain and Italy.
“Son could very well have played his last game for Tottenham and well, if it was the Europa League final, it would be fitting,” TBR Football senior correspondent Graeme Bailey gave an update on Son’s future at Spurs.
“I am told he still believes he is more than capable of recapturing his best form – but Spurs are ready to make moves this summer and Son leaving could materialise.”

This suggests Son’s future at the club remains very much up in the air. The veteran star has one year left to run on his Spurs contract after the club triggered an extension earlier this year. With the club embarking on a new era and the need to strengthen ahead of a Champions League run next season, Tottenham could part ways with one of the best players to wear our famous white shirt.
