“Build on the foundations”- Newly appointed Thomas Frank aiming to build upon Ange Postecoglou’s foundations at Tottenham Hotspur

Ange Postecoglou has laid out the blueprint for Thomas Frank to succeed at Tottenham

A new chapter awaits Tottenham Hotspur as they look to build on the Europa League success next season. The Lilywhites finally sorted out their managerial situation last week and appointed Thomas Frank as their new manager. Now, the Danish tactician has a massive task of following in on the footsteps of Ange Postecoglou and continue the winning trend at N17.

Ange’s men did not endure the best domestic campaign last season. Yet, they overcame all the criticism and scrutiny to go all the way in the Europa League and become champions. The historic win ended their 17-year wait for a major trophy, and also ensured that the North London club played Champions League football next season.

This is the perfect opportunity for Spurs to build on the winning culture set by the Australian and use the Europa League success as a springboard for more trophies. That starts with Thomas Frank instilling his philosophy into the squad and getting the players back on board before next season starts. Daniel Levy must also make sure to back the 51-year-old in the summer and bring in reinforcements quickly.

Thomas Frank wants to continue the winning trend at Tottenham

Ange Postecoglou managed to walk the talk at Tottenham and ended the long-standing trophy drought last month. Despite the Europa League success, the Australian tactician was sacked by Daniel Levy due to the poor domestic campaign that his team endured. Now, Thomas Frank is under pressure from the get-go to carve out positive results from minute one and do well on all four fronts next season.

However, the Dane is not lacking in confidence and has taken some time out to praise Big Ange for the work he has done at N17. Speaking to the Tottenham Hotspur channel, Frank said,

“Huge congratulations to the Club, to the team (for the Europa League triumph). Huge congratulations to Ange (Postecoglou) – I think Ange has done something special. He’ll forever be a legend in Tottenham. It’s important to understand we all stand on the shoulders of others. I’m going in on the foundation Ange built, and his coaching staff, and I’m very humble about that. I’ll do my very best to continue the great work he put in.”

Thomas Frank took the time out to congratulate Ange Postecoglou for the Europa League triumph. The Danish tactician suggested that Big Ange will always be a legend at N17 after the historic achievement. Frank also added that he is looking to build on the foundations Ange Postecoglou has set and he is aiming to continue the winning trend at Spurs that the Australian instilled.

More Tottenham Hotspur News:

It remains to be seen how Thomas Frank goes about his business at Hotspur Way. It was reported earlier that the dressing room was not happy with Ange Postecoglou’s departure and they were planning a ‘revolt.’ Now, the ex-Brentford manager’s first order of business should be to get the players back on board and instil a winning mentality at the club.
