Tottenham have the chance of making a statement by signing Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo in the summer
The buzz around Tottenham following the Europa League success has certainly died down in recent weeks. The Lilywhites questionably sacked Ange Postecoglou just two weeks after the historic achievement. Club chairman Daniel Levy thought it was the right time to replace the Australian tactician and kickstart a new era at N17 following the European success.
However, the fans have not yet come on board with the decision, and Levy needs to make a statement signing to start the buzz around N17 again before next season kicks off. A massive squad overhaul is needed in the summer anyways, and the Lilywhites need to be proactive in the coming weeks if they want to close the gap on their rivals next season under Thomas Frank.

The Danich tactician needs to backed in the summer as he faces a huge challenge of building on the Europa League success. If Daniel Levy was serious about the club’s aim to win the Premier League and the Champions League, then the Spurs chairman needs to invest heavily into the squad and bring in the players that are more suited to Thomas Frank’s system.
Tottenham should pull out all the stops to land Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo
Tottenham are already playing catch-up in the transfer market after enduring a slow start to the summer due to the managerial situation at N17. The Lilywhites have missed out on some of their intended targets due to this, and fans have also been frustrated with the lack of movements in the window. The only way to get the fans excited about next season is by making a statement signing quickly.
Spurs are eager to sign one of Bryan Mbeumo or Antoine Semenyo in the summer. The former is edging closer to a move to Man United in the coming weeks, so that leaves the Bournemouth star heading towards N17. Now, John Wenham has urged the club to pull out all the stops and land Mbeumo instead. Speaking to Tottenham News, Wenham said,
“I’d rather Mbeumo over Semenyo. Semenyo is an exciting player, but Mbeumo is just a little bit more polished, and that’s why I’d prefer him out of the two players. If we could get Mbeumo, that would be a fantastic signing, a Premier League-ready player who can make an instant impact. I get the impression that one of Mbeumo or Semenyo will end up at Tottenham, and the other will end up at Manchester United.”

The Lilywhite Rose owner added,
“Either would improve our squad, a squad which needs improving ahead of next season’s Champions League. For either player, Tottenham would be a huge step up, and I also think they’d be in our strongest team almost instantly. However, as I said, while either would be fantastic, I’d prefer Mbeumo.”
John Wenham clearly wants Bryan Mbeumo at Tottenham and has urged the club to sign him at all costs. The Lilywhite Rose owner has suggested that the Brentford star is Premier League-proven and can make an instant impact under Thomas Frank. Wenham also insists that both Mbeumo and Antoine Semenyo would improve the attack next season, however he prefers the Cameroon international more as he would thrive under Thomas Frank at N17.

It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds as Manchester United are edging close towards striking a deal to land Bryan Mbeumo in the summer. However, the Lilywhites should focus on signing Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo instead, as the Cherries attacker wants to join the North London club and play under Thomas Frank. He is also the club’s number one target if they miss out on Mbeumo this summer.
