The Spurs No.17 has been one of the standout performers for the Lilywhites in recent years. And Atletico Madrid’s interest in him as considered to be ‘deadly serious.’ As per Spanish journalist Ruben Uria (via El Desmarque),
“I know that Cholo calls Cuti Romero almost every day to see if he can convince him. They (Tottenham) are going to ask a lot. €58-60 million (£49-51m) for this player, which is a lot of money for a centre back. But I don’t know why Atleti would go after him. We’ll see how the summer goes.”
This just shows that the La Liga giants are not messing around and actually want to land the 27-year-old in the summer. It was reported earlier that Spurs have no intentions of losing their best defender.
