Palmeiras president Leila Pereira is leading negotiations for Tottenham forward Richarlison
Richarlison’s future at Tottenham Hotspur remains uncertain, with contrasting reports doing the rounds in the past few weeks.
The Brazilian has been linked heavily with an exit from Spurs for a while now. He has attracted interest from his former club Everton, while Turkish champions Galatasaray have been his admirers too. Despite a strong end to the 2024/25 campaign, where he played a crucial part in the North London outfit’s Europa League success, Richarlison has been given the green light to leave by new boss Thomas Frank.
Recently, Vasco da Gama were pursuing the forward’s signature but his high wages proved a stumbling block. Now, he is wanted by another Brazilian club.

Palmeiras preparing bold offer for Tottenham forward
According to Brazilian journalist Matheus Filipe, via newspaper Terra, Palmeiras have opened direct talks with Richarlison over a deal to sign him this summer. The pursuit is being monitored by club president Leila Pereira, who is personally leading negotiations since the last two weeks.
The South American club are aware that Spurs want £55m, a figure they believe they could approach thanks to their recent Club World Cup prize money.
“Leila Pereira contacted Tottenham to try to sign Richarlison. She’s been personally speaking with the player and trying to convince him to join Palmeiras for about two weeks,” Matheus Filipe revealed.
The Sao Paulo-based outfit have presented a clear vision to the Tottenham striker, which includes him being a key player and retaining the opportunity to play for Brazil regularly, Filipe adds via Terra. Palmeiras president Leila Pereira will hope the club’s combination of financial muscle and clear sporting vision will help lure Richarlison back to Brazil, and if they succeed in making it happen, it will be the most high-profile capture in their history.

Tottenham ready to part ways with Richarlison
Recent reports claimed that Richarlison would be ready to end his time at Tottenham if Mohammed Kudus arrives. Kudus joined from West Ham United last week, and this could push the Brazil international out of the North London club.
The 28-year-old faced an injury-hit 2024/25 campaign, as he was limited to just four Premier League starts. Given his persistent injury problems and chronic inconsistency in performance levels, the Hotspur Way chiefs want to part ways with the forward.
So, Palmeiras prepared to match Tottenham’s £55m is great news. However, it remains to be seen whether Richarlison would be willing to return to Brazil this summer.
