24-year-old Tottenham star offers his service to La Liga side; summer exit likely

Bryan Gil wants to leave Tottenham this summer and has offered himself to Celta Vigo

Tottenham Hotspur have started accelerating their transfer business from last week. They wrapped up the deal for Japanese prospect Kota Takai from Kawasaki Frontale, before making their first marquee signing of the summer transfer window in the shape of Mohammed Kudus.

There are still some positions that need to be addressed if the North Londoners want to compete hard on all four fronts next season. But fans can remain hopeful that it will be sorted out before the new season commences. Not to forget, the Hotspur Way chiefs must also focus on moving on players who are surplus to the new head coach’s requirements.

Yves Bissouma is deemed to be one of the players who could leave N17, having emerged as a concrete target for Fenerbahce in the last couple of weeks. Bryan Gil also appears to fall into the same category.

The Spanish winger left Tottenham to join Girona on a season-long loan last summer. As part of the winger’s new Tottenham contract, there was a £12.8million release clause inserted, and Girona were given priority to trigger it before June 30 if they want to.

Bryan Gil has been attracting interest from Spanish clubs

However, the La Liga club decided to opt against triggering it after the player’s premature end to the last season following a knee injury in March. Before that, Bryan Gil had registered three goals and as many assists in 25 La Liga fixtures. In recent months, Sevilla have expressed an interest in re-signing Gil, while MLS and Saudi Pro League clubs were eager to lure him with ‘dizzying offers’.

However, none of those have come to fruition and he is still a part of Tottenham.

Bryan Gil offers himself to Celta Vigo

Now, according to a report from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo (h/t Sport Witness), Gil has offered himself to Celta Vigo.

This development comes after Celta Vigo took concrete steps to sign Bryan Zaragoza, but the move has now hit a roadblock due to Bayern Munich’s high valuation. As a result, they are looking at other players and Gil has emerged as one of Zaragoza’s alternatives.

Daniel Levy should offload Bryan Gil

Having suffered a knee injury back in March, the 24-year-old is now close to regaining full fitness. He has already entered the final year of his contract at White Hart Lane, and having been left out of Thomas Frank’s plans, Tottenham are looking to offload Gil this summer.

The aforementioned report (h/t Sport Witness) adds Celta Vigo are assessing several conditions, including the Spaniard’s injury, to decide whether to move forward with an offer to sign him or not.

As for Tottenham, Daniel Levy must take a wise decision of cutting their losses on Gil by selling him now at a modest fee, rather than risking losing him on a free transfer in 2026. At 24, the five-cap Spanish international still has a lot of time to re-launch his career and the ideal place to do that will be in his nation.
