Tottenham told what it will take to land Champions League winning Brazilian ace

Date:

Tottenham Hotspur will need to pay over the odds to land Real Madrid star Rodrygo

With Morgan Gibbs-White now officially off the table after penning a new long-term deal with Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur’s attention must quickly pivot to other creative targets. One name on Daniel Levy’s radar? Rodrygo Goes, the Real Madrid sensation who could be set for a blockbuster Premier League move this summer.

While Arsenal and Liverpool have also been loosely linked with the Brazilian, Spurs fans have every reason to hope. If the club is serious about challenging for honours and closing the gap on Champions League regulars, Rodrygo could be the kind of signing that signals true ambition.

Rodrygo will be a statement signing for Spurs

Tottenham’s summer has already shown signs of strategic progress, especially with the arrival of Mohammed Kudus. But Rodrygo is a different calibre altogether, a Champions League winner, a regular at one of the world’s most elite clubs, and still just 24 years old.

Tottenham Hotspur will need to pay over the odds to land Real Madrid star Rodrygo.

Rodrygo’s versatility, ability to glide past defenders, and knack for stepping up in big games make him an ideal fit for a Spurs side craving elite-level spark in the final third. The move would also offer him a fresh start and a starring role in Thomas Frank’s new project, something he doesn’t currently have at Madrid with Kylian Mbappe and Endrick arriving.

But it won’t be easy.

The wage hurdle and why Spurs should rethink It

Former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson pointed out via Tottenham News that Rodrygo’s potential salary could blow Tottenham’s current wage structure out of the water. And yes, that’s a fair concern. Historically, Levy and the board have been cautious when it comes to big contracts, especially without Champions League football on offer. But maybe it’s time to change that narrative.

“If he is to come to the Premier League, I’d love to think that Tottenham are in the mix to get him. But I don’t think that their wage structure would allow it. I think you look at other clubs in the way that they’re quite flexible.

If we want to move from a club that talks about ambition to one that acts on it, this is the moment. The signing of Rodrygo wouldn’t just boost us on the pitch, it would elevate our profile globally, attract other top players, and potentially push us over the line in the race for top four. This is the kind of deal where the financial outlay justifies itself through what it brings back in performance, commercial impact, and club trajectory.

Now or never for Tottenham?

Tottenham are at a crossroads. We’ve built the stadium. We’ve invested in infrastructure. We’ve brought in promising players. But to truly compete with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, and City, we need a marquee addition who can turn games on his own. Rodrygo is that player.

If Daniel Levy can pull this off, yes, even if it means breaking our wage structure, it would be a game-changing move. One that shows Tottenham are not just building for the future, but ready to fight for the present. Let’s be bold. Let’s back Thomas Frank . And let’s give ourselves the best chance of closing the gap. Rodrygo in lilywhite? Make it happen, Daniel.
