Following the collapse of the Morgan Gibbs-White deal, Spurs are eager to make a statement signing to reinforce their squad before the new season kicks off. A medical had reportedly been scheduled at Hotspur Way before Forest raised objections over what they viewed as an illegal approach, derailing what seemed like a done deal.

According to Football.london, the Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze has a £67.5 million release clause, just slightly above what Spurs had earmarked for Gibbs-White. The creative midfielder is reportedly open to a new challenge, and Champions League football with Spurs may be enough to lure him across the capital.
The Gunners, who have shown strong interest in Eze, may no longer be able to follow through.
