Anthony Gordon reveals his admiration for Tottenham Hotspur skipper Son Heung-min
Son Heung-min is someone who is already considered an icon at Tottenham Hotspur stadium, and he is not only about those goals, assists, or even the silverware that he finally went on to lift last season; the South Korean is about the respect that he has gained from everyone around the globe with his humility and determination.
The 33-year-old has been recently hailed by two current Premier League attackers, Anthony Gordon and Mathys Tel, both of whom regarded Son as a mentor, a role model, and a bona fide legend of the modern era.
Gordon speaks highly about Son

Ahead of Newcastle United’s preseason friendly against Tottenham in Asia, the England international made no attempt to hide his admiration for the former Bayer Leverkusen star.
The 25-year-old went on to claim that Son is not just someone that he looks up to, but he is also someone who has been in the Everton academy graduate’s corner for a while.
Speaking in an interview with Coupang Play, Gordon said:
“Son is one of my favourite players ever in the Premier League. He plays in my position, so he’s a role model for me.
“I also spoke to him a couple of times. He texts me after games. He’s a really, really nice guy, so humble, a real role model, a legend in England and in Korea. An amazing guy.”
Now if we look at that last sentence, it depicts a lot about Sonny. It’s rare for a top player to speak like that about a player, especially when they play in the same league, and that’s also so for close rivals. But then again, the South Korean ace is not your average forward.
Tel also holds this admiration for Son

And when we dip inside at Hotspur Way, there is an equal admiration about the 33-year-old with the North Londoners summer singing from Bayern Munich. Mathys Tel had also been soaking a lot up from Son.
Tel speaking with Hayters TV said:
“I’m talking all the time with Sonny because he has more experience than me, so I want to learn and make sure that I become better every day.
“He just helps me every day. Sonny is a legend, everybody knows him, so I’m very happy to work with him.”
And Son’s future at N17 is still a bit blurry
That’s much for admiration from Tel, but if Son does end up staying put at Tottenham, then the French sensation is expected to battle out the South Korean for a starting role on that left flank this season. But there is no ego about that, and like Gordon, even Tel is simply in awe.
We are almost into the weeks nearing the commencement of the new season, and the future of the South Korean international is still quite blurry given that there are reports surrounding his possible exit in the summer, with LAFC looking to pry him away to MLS.
