Tottenham will look for an improved Premier League campaign under new head coach Thomas Frank
Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed their best moment under Thomas Frank last week when they beat bitter north London rivals Arsenal 1-0 in Hong Kong.
Pape Matar Sarr netted the only goal of the game against the Gunners, and Spurs followed that up with a 1-1 draw Newcastle United in Seoul on Sunday which happened to be Son Heung-min’s last game in our famous white shirt. Before the pre-season tour of Asia, the Lilywhites played a few friendly fixtures back in the UK.
Tottenham have been preparing well for the upcoming season after a disastrous Premier League campaign last time out. As they finished 17th in the league table, Daniel Levy and Co. had no other option but to sack Ange Postecoglou, despite him guiding the club to Europa League success.
So, Thomas Frank knows he has to match the lofty expectations of the fans and the club alike to stay at N17. His team will be raring to do much better this time around. The Dane’s aim would be to fight for a top-four spot and win a cup competition or two.
Pundit predicts where Tottenham will finish in the Premier League in the 2025/26 campaign
Now, Gabriel Agbonlahor has predicted where Thomas Frank’s side will finish next season in the Premier League. He claims that Tottenham will finish seventh and eventually miss out on Champions League football, despite backing Daniel Levy to spend another £100 million on new signings.
“I think they will finish in seventh! I think they will spend more than that (what Morgan Gibbs-White would have cost). It would not surprise me to spend another £100 million,” Gabriel Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT show.
“Yes, because of the Champions League money. I mean, winning the Europa League, the Champions League money makes a big difference.
“And Thomas Frank would not have taken this job if he was not guaranteed to get certain players that he wanted.”

Top-four finish would be a stunning achievement
The London-based out finished in 17th spot and recorded 22 losses in a single Premier League season. This season, under Frank’s management, the Lilywhites are expected to improve substantially and compete well in all the cup competitions.
Daniel Levy and Johan Lange are currently laying the foundation for the Danish tactician this transfer window, with Joao Palhinha the latest figure to join the squad. If they could add some more quality signings, then Spurs could prove Agbonlahor wrong and our detractors wrong. And if Frank’s side finish in the top four, it would be an incredible achievement.
