Tottenham midfielder Joao Palhinha is hoping to win trophies in the upcoming season
All eyes were on Tottenham as they took on PSG in the UEFA Super Cup final on Wednesday night. Many fans expected the Lilywhites to be ran over by the reigning Champions League winners in the one-off tie. But credit where its due, Thomas Frank’s men stood tall and managed to outplay the French giants for the majority of the game.
The North London club deservingly took a 2-0 lead as the fans dreamt of winning a second major trophy in just three months. But Spurs managed to let PSG come back into the game by conceding two goals in the last ten minutes. To make matters worse, the Lilywhites lost the game on penalties after leading the game for more than hour.
However, Thomas Frank was ‘happy’ to see the efforts his team put out to try and beat one of the best teams in Europe. The Danish tactician praised his players for adapting to the system well during the game. The Spurs manager also credited how hard his team worked off the ball, making it tough for the French giants to get a sight of goal until the very end.

And he wants to bring out the best in all players as they look to compete hard on all four fronts in the upcoming season.
Now, new signing Joao Palhinha has given his verdict on the upcoming season. Speaking to Hayters TV, Palhinha said,
“I think it’s the beginning of a journey together… Tottenham is a great club and has all the conditions to achieve big things. It showed in the past, and for sure it will show again in the future.”
The Spurs midfielder added,
“I share the dressing room with top players, as well we have a top coach who’s a great human being, and I think we have all the conditions together to achieve big things, we just need to be together, and keep fighting.”
Joao Palhinha believes Tottenham have all the foundations needed to achieve ‘big things.’ The new signing adds that Thomas Frank and the players are determined to get the Lilywhites back on top where it belongs. Palhinha has also urged his teammates to fight in every game and be together every step of the way in the upcoming season.
