Tottenham boss Thomas Frank wants his team to compete hard on all four fronts in the upcoming season
Last night’s performance against PSG has clearly shown that Tottenham are still one or two major signings away from competing till the end against top teams. The Lilywhites almost held off the French giants in the UEFA Super Cup final, only to see a 2-0 lead slip through their hands in the last ten minutes. To make matters worse, the North London club then went on to lose the penalty shootout as well.
Now, the North London club must try to move on and focus on enduring a strong start to the new Premier League campaign. To achieve that, Spurs must also look to bring in some new players as we approach the business-end of the transfer window. The lack of squad depth is clear to see, and there is an urgent need of new signings before the new campaign commences.

The Lilywhites are not helped by Heung-Min Son’s departure after ending a ten-year stint at N17. Not only that, but Tottenham must now bring in a player to replace James Maddison as well after the England international ruptured his ACL earlier this month. He is set to miss most parts of next season as Spurs look to build on the Europa League success.
Thomas Frank is adamant that Tottenham are looking to strengthen the squad
There is no doubt that Tottenham are looking to bring in one or two players that could bolster the quality of the squad for next season. The Lilywhites have decided to up their ante in the last few days of the transfer window, and there is a good reason as to why they are doing that. The North London club wants to compete on all four fronts, and that will only be possible if there is enough squad depth at N17.
Now, Thomas Frank has given his verdict on Spurs’ position in the transfer window. Speaking in the post-match presser, Frank told TNT Sports (via X),
“We’d like to strengthen the squad. No doubt about that. We do work very hard to see if we can do that. In general, I am very happy with the squad but in any transfer window we try to see if we can make the squad stronger before the window closes.”
Thomas Frank has clearly indicated that he wants to strengthen his squad before the transfer window shuts. The Spurs manager has indicated that he is ‘happy’ with his current squad, but he hopes that the Lilywhites grab up any opportunity to sign a new player if there is a strong possibility.
Tottenham are linked with Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze as they look to replace James Maddison for the upcoming season. The England international is keen on a move to N17, provided the Lilywhites pay the required amount for his services. The transfer saga involving the Palace attacker will go on till the end, with a strong chance that Spurs manage to land him right at the end of the window.
