Arsenal have abandoned their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur target Eberechi Eze

Finally, a bit of transfer news that swings in our favourm Arsenal have dropped out of the race for Eberechi Eze, clearing the way for Tottenham Hotspur to make their move. The Crystal Palace star has been on our radar for some time, and with the Gunners backing off, this could be the moment Daniel Levy and Thomas Frank strike.

At 27, Eze is right in his prime and has consistently been one of the Premier League’s most exciting creative midfielders since joining Palace from QPR in 2020. His ability to glide past defenders, link play, and deliver match-winning moments is exactly what our attack needs, especially with James Maddison sidelined and Son Heung-min no longer in the squad.

Arsenal Wave the White Flag

According to Graeme Bailey via TBR, Arsenal have ended their interest in Eze because they see him as an out-and-out number ten, a position they’re already stacked in with Martin Ødegaard and young talents like Ethan Nwaneri. Instead, they’re shifting their attention to a specialist winger for the left side.

Tottenham should now make their move for Eberechi Eze.

For Spurs, this is fantastic news. One of our biggest rivals for his signature is gone, giving us a far cleaner run at getting this deal done. And while some might say the £60m-plus price tag is steep, we’ve shown in recent seasons — with the likes of Richarlison and Pedro Porro — that we’re not afraid to spend big on the right player.

Why Eze Fits Spurs Perfectly

Eze isn’t just a number ten. He’s a game-changer who can play wide on the left, drift inside, and still create havoc through the middle. That versatility is a huge asset for Frank, who thrives on fluid attacking football and interchanging roles. With Maddison’s creativity missing and our left-hand side needing more spark, Eze could hit the ground running and instantly raise our attacking threat.

He’s also a Premier League-proven player who won’t need months to adapt. Fifteen goal contributions last season for Palace in a side that wasn’t exactly overflowing with attacking quality speaks volumes. Put him in this Spurs team with better movement and finishing around him, and those numbers could climb quickly.

Palace Ready to Listen

Steve Parish knows Eze’s contract is running down, with just two years left, and Palace are prepared to cash in if the right offer lands. That right offer could and should come from us.

This is our chance to land one of the league’s most creative and versatile midfielders without Arsenal breathing down our necks. Now it’s over to Levy and the board, don’t let this one slip.
