Premier League star’s future to be decided in the next 48 hours; Tottenham and Arsenal face anxious wait

Eberechi Eze looks set to seal his move to either Tottenham Hotspur or Arsenal in the next 48 hours

Thomas Frank will have a somewhat changed Tottenham Hotspur team for the upcoming 2025-26 season than the one that won the UEFA Europa League under Ange Postecoglou. Important players like Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha have been brought in, while some other players have left the team.

One of the most notable of these departures has been that of Son Heung-Min, who left the London side after spending 10 years at the club. During this time, he proved himself to be one of the most decisive forwards in the Premier League, and there is no doubt that Tottenham will miss a player of his stature next season.

Tottenham looking to land Eberechi Eze

However, Spurs are making their efforts in the transfer market to mitigate the impact of this departure as much as possible. For this purpose, that they are pushing hard to sign the Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze. In fact, the London side is already in the final stretch of this operation.

Eberechi Eze looks set to seal his move to either Tottenham Hotspur or Arsenal in the next 48 hours.

As per CaughtOffside, Tottenham officials held a meeting with their counterparts from Crystal Palace which went on for more than two hours. Only the length of this meeting showcases how serious the two sides are on this operation and the outcome of this operation can be decided in the next 48 hours.

Arsenal also competing for the forward’s signing

However, getting Eze will still not be easy for Spurs. One factor that makes this operation particularly difficult is the involvement of Arsenal, as the Gunners are also keen on landing the winger. Mikel Arteta’s side was being seen as the favorite to land him a few days ago, but their inability to offload players has allowed Tottenham to make their moves.

The 27-year-old has a £68 million release clause, but Spurs are looking to get him for around £55 million. The player himself is also ready to join Tottenham without waiting for Arsenal, especially as he would be a more important player at Spurs than at Arsenal.

With James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski both out with injuries, Eze can in fact get a starting spot from Thomas Frank if he undertakes the move this summer. However, once these players are fit, he will have more competition, as in addition to this duo, Mohammed Kudus, and Wilson Odobert can all play as attacking midfielders. Most of these players, including Kudus and Odobert, as well as Brennan Johnson, will also compete with him for minutes on the left wing.

There is no doubt that Eze would be a very good replacement for Son, and with his Premier League experience, he would be ready to contribute to the achievement of the team’s goals right away. His dynamism and versatility would be important tools for Thomas Frank, but for now, it remains to be seen which of the two London clubs would get their hands on the winger.
