One thing that you will always get from Tottenham forward Richarlison is hundred precent effort week in week out. The Brazil international wears his heart on his sleeve, and it is clear to see that he wants to do the best for the club. But it is also important to note that the 28-year-old has not endured a successful stint at N17 due to several injury concerns and lack of impact on the pitch.
The prolific attacker set the Premier League alight during his time at Everton a few years back. And that prompted Tottenham to make a move for him and bring him to North London quickly. However, it has not quite worked for the Brazilian and he has found life tough during his time with the Lilywhites.
Richarlison has been constantly linked with a move away from the club as well in the summer transfer window. The ex-Everton star fell down the pecking order Ange Postecoglou last season, and many expected that trend to continue under Thomas Frank as well. “Yeah, I think Richy was really phenomenal, his hold up play, his intensity, his arriving in the box was top. And his attitude, top, top top. Of course we’re aware of his fitness situation, that is why we have monitored him closely – that’s why he didn’t play at Reading in the first game, but he is on it.”
Thomas Frank suggested that Richarlison was ‘phenomenal’ against PSG, pointing out the way the 28-year-old pressed from the front and led the line brilliantly. The Danish tactician also praised the attacker’s attitude even though the Brazilian is facing an uncertain future at N17. The Spurs manager is also wary of Richarlison’s injury issues and he is managing the forward’s game time accordingly.
One should not be surprised if the ex-Everton stays put at N17 for the upcoming season and manages to make his mark at the club. Richarlison recently put out a statement indicating that he wants to repay Thomas Frank’s faith in him. This basically means that the Brazil international is willing to fight for his place under the ex-Brentford boss.
