“What I’ve learned”- Thomas Frank believes Tottenham have the ‘foundations’ for success; positive ahead of 2025/26 PL campaign

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank can see that the Spurs players are willing to fight for each other

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank is looking to build on the Europa League success as the club prepares to kickstart a new era. The Danish tactician is keen to make his mark at N17, and it is fair to say that his players will play a big part in ensuring that. The squad is also keen to play for the ex-Brentford boss and many players have shown their willingness to impress the new manager.

Last season was a disaster for the North London club as they finished the domestic campaign in the bottom half of the Premier League table. Ange Postecoglou’s men managed to lose 22 games in the league, finishing just a place above the relegation zone. And some might say that the Lilywhites were lucky that the teams below them were equally poor, or else the club would have been in a relegation fight.

Tottenham players are willing to build on the Europa League success in the upcoming season under Thomas Frank.

But one thing that struck out the most was that the players never gave up and kept fighting till the end for each other. The squad harmony was clear to see and the team was fighting towards a common goal… winning the Europa League. The North London club managed to achieve that, showing how the players came together and managed to win a major trophy against all odds.

Tottenham manager Thomas Frank is happy with how intact the squad is

Last season’s failures meant that the Tottenham players had to come together during tough times as the media and the fans targeted the squad week in week out. This ‘unity’ in the squad has made life easier for Thomas Frank as he looks to bring out the best out of his players in the upcoming season.

The new Spurs manager is impressed with how intact the squad is as the Lilywhites prepare to compete hard on all four fronts in the upcoming season. Speaking in his pre-match presser, Frank said (as transcribed by Football.London),

“What I have learned is that because of how the season turned out last season for various reasons, both the challenges and the success at the end, there is a big togetherness. They are tight, they are together. That’s a foundation for more success and I think there is also a willingness to improve.”

Thomas Frank believes that last season’s challenges in the domestic competition and the success in the Europa League has brought the whole squad together. The Danish tactician also adds that the squad harmony is at its best and players are willing to fight for each other. The Spurs manager points out that he plans to keep it this way as it can be a foundation to a successful season, as the players are showing signs of improvement.

Fans will hope that Tottenham can kickstart a new era at N17 on a positive note under Thomas Frank. After the heart-breaking defeat against PSG, Thomas Frank promised that his team would ‘come out flying’ in the Premier League opener. The Danish tactician will want to keep his promise and deliver a perfect result against Burnley.
