Tottenham Hotspur looking to take advantage of Aston Villa’s PSR woes
There are only a few days left in this summer transfer window, but the market can still see a lot of transfer activity in these days. Tottenham Hotspur are one of the sides that are still looking to make some moves in the market before it closes.
Spurs are working on both departures and arrivals, but they seem to be particularly concerned about mitigating some of the weaknesses in their squad by bringing in some new players. In recent days, they have been linked with the likes of Eberechi Eze, Savinho, Alejandro Garnacho, and Conor Gallagher among others.
There is no doubt that Tottenham would need more attacking reinforcements to compete for the big titles this season, and as per a report from TeamTalk, they are looking to raid another Premier League side to get their preferred target.
The player in question is Morgan Rogers who is one of the stars of Unai Emery’s Aston Villa side. In normal conditions, a player of Rogers’ stature would have been untouchable for the Villans. However, they are facing significant PSR problems, which can force them to agree to a departure of their prized asset.
For now, Villans are willing to let another of their players, Jacob Ramsey, but his departure would only allow them to balance their books, and Unai Emery would not be able to get any new reinforcements.

As far as Tottenham are concerned, they currently seem to be focusing on the signing of Eberechi Eze and Savinho, as they are keen to bring more attacking reinforcements to mitigate the impact of Son Heung-Min’s departure.
However, if they are unable to land any or both of these players, they would push to sign Morgan Rogers, who would undoubtedly be a very good addition to Thomas Frank’s squad. The 23-year-old is one of the favorites to win the PFA Young Player of the Year award this year, which goes on to showcase the extent of his talent and the amazing 2024-25 season he had and Spurs would definitely benefit from a player of his quality in their squad.
