Tottenham are looking to add more depth in the middle of the park as they look to compete hard on all four fronts this season. The Lilywhites have already managed to land Joao Palhinha from Bayern Munich on an initial loan, with an option to buy the Portugal international permanently. This just shows that Daniel Levy has taken notice of the fact there is more firepower needed in midfield.
Now, the North London club might have to get active in the market for a midfielder yet again. Yves Bissouma’s time at N17 might be coming to an end as he looks all set to be out of Thomas Frank’s project. The Mali international was banished from the squad last week for the UEFA Super Cup final for disciplinary issues. And now he is linked with a move away from the club on a permanent deal.
Also, Thomas Frank relies heavily on his midfielders during build-up. The Danish tactician wants his #6 to breakdown the opposition play and proceed with a forward pass. This basically means that Daniel Levy must look to bring in a midfielder that is comfortable on the ball and has the ability to intercept opposition attacks.

And to achieve that, the North London club will need enough quality in the squad for Thomas Frank to rotate the team as and when needed.
It was reported earlier this month that Spurs were keeping tabs on Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado. The Spain international’s breakthrough season under Hansi Flick certainly raised some eyebrows around Europe, earning him a long-term contract with the Blaugrana as well. However, the report also stated that Barcelona set an asking price of €30m for his services.
But Tottenham are not the only ones willing to land the 21-year-old in the summer. As per MARCA, Wolves and West Ham United have also joined in the race to land Casado in the coming days. Both clubs are closely monitoring the Spaniard’s situation at Barcelona and are willing to pay the asking price that the Blaugrana have set. However, Casado’s focus remains on Barca and the 21-year-old has no intentions of leaving the club anytime soon.
Daniel Levy might need to work his magic if he wants to land Marc Casado in the coming days. The Spain international might not look intimidating due to his physicality, but he more than makes up for it with his willingness to win the ball back. He can also play as an #8, indicating that he has good passing range and can open up a defence with his lobbed through balls.
