“Best is yet to come”- Brennan Johnson backs resurgent Tottenham star to stand and deliver

Tottenham star Richarlison is hoping to quickly change his fortunes around at N17 this season

Tottenham forward Richarlison is finally living up to the expectations after a brilliant display against Burnley in the Premier League. The Brazil international has not had an easy time at N17 following his switch from Everton in 2022. And it is fair to say that the 28-year-old’s time at the North London club was coming to an end after a disappointing campaign last season.

The prolific striker fell down the pecking order under Ange Postecoglou, and he never managed to get back into contention last season. Numerous injuries issues and lack of impact on the pitch meant that the fans were also getting frustrated with his time at the club. But as the great saying goes… it is always better late than never. And Richarlison might just turn it around at N17 this time around.

Tottenham forward Richarlison will look to build on the brilliant performance against Burnley.

His brilliant display in the first Premier League game of the season last weekend was a sight for sore eyes. The ex-Everton star bagged two sublime goals and reminded everyone that he can still make it work at N17. The first goal was pure striker’s instinct as he volleyed in a cross from close range. But it is the second goal that got everyone off their feet… a beautiful scissor kick into the back of the net that was worth rewatching time and again.

Tottenham star Richarlison can still make it work at N17 after brilliant performance

Not many would have expected Richarlison to be the standout player on the pitch for the Lilywhites in the first Premier League game of the season. The Brazil international had a faultless game, with Thomas Frank also calling his performance ‘phenomenal.’ This is the least the 28-year-old deserved after enduring a torrid time at N17 in recent years. And fans will hope that the striker can turn it around at the club.

Fellow teammate Brennan Johnson has full faith that Richarlison will manage to build momentum and be a vital part of the team. Speaking to the Tottenham media team, Johnson said,

“From day one, he’s come back and been so motivated. You can see it in his eyes, the hunger, working hard. I think it showed today (against Burnley), how hard he works, first and foremost, and then his quality.”

The Spurs attacker added,

“Hopefully, with his quality, and these performances, he can keep picking up more rhythm because he’s been out for a while, and this is the first game of the season, so hopefully the best is still yet to come.”

Brennan Johnson pointed out that Richarlison is a man on a mission and there is hunger in his eyes to do well. The Welshman added that Richarlison’s performance against Burnley was complete and the striker worked his socks off. Johnson hopes that the Brazilian builds some rhythm going forward and manages to stay fit, also adding that the ‘best is yet to come’ from the 28-year-old.

Thomas Frank will also hope that Richarlison continues to surprise everyone and make himself the main man up top for Tottenham. The Brazil international has gone through a lot of tough times at N17, so it is about time that things start going his way from now on.
