Yves Bissouma is still not giving up on his Tottenham career amid intense transfer links

Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma’s time at N17 has not been the easiest. The Mali international arrived at the club following a high-profile switch from Brighton. And it is fair to say that the inconsistency in his performances has forced him to be in and out of the starting eleven constantly. The 28-year-old also fell down the pecking order under Ange Postecoglou during the start of last season.

However, it is important to note that Bissouma played an important role in the second half of the campaign as the Lilywhites were going through an injury crisis in midfield. The Mali international helped Spurs win the Europa League through his exceptional performances in the latter stages of the competition. And it looked like the prolific midfielder had managed to turn it around at N17.

Yves Bissouma is still not giving up on his Tottenham career amid intense transfer links.
Tottenham star Yves Bissouma might be heading for a summer exit amid Everton and West Ham transfer links.

But it is back to square-one for the ex-Brighton man now. Newly appointed Spurs manager Thomas Frank recently dropped Bissouma from the squad due to disciplinary issues. The bad conduct on show from the 28-year-old has only put his Tottenham career in jeopardy, and it looks like the end of the road might be nearing for the Mali international.

Tottenham set asking price for Yves Bissouma amid PL interest

It was reported earlier that Bissouma is still hoping to fight for his place at N17 and would not give up unless Thomas Frank made him surplus to requirements. The 28-year-old is also keen to stay in the Premier League this season as he would be eligible to attain a British passport next year. The report also states that Everton and West Ham United are closely monitoring the midfielder’s situation at N17.

Now, reliable journalist Paul O’Keefe has shared the asking price set by Spurs for Yves Bissouma. Speaking on the Last Word on Spurs podcast, O’Keefe said,

“He’s keen to stay in England. I don’t think moving abroad is going to tickle his fancy. I know that West Ham looked at the beginning of the window, but they’ve not returned since.”

The journalist added,

“I understand Everton are considering him, but not really concrete enough to say they’re going to make a move. The money they’re talking about is peanuts, £12m/£14m for him. He’s in his last year, so they’d take £12m/£14m.”

Paul O’Keefe has suggested that Yves Bissouma is keen to stay in England andmoving abroad is not what he is looking for. The journalist added that West Ham had shown interest in the midfielder at first, but no concrete talks have taken place. Not only the Hammers, but Everton have also considered signing the Mali international in the coming days. O’Keefe has also indicated that Spurs are willing to let Bissouma leave for around £12m/£14m as he enters his last year at N17.

With only a year left in his contract at Hotspur Way, Spurs will hope that a club comes in with a good offer to take Bissouma off their books quickly. The Lilywhites want to avoid losing the Mali international on a free transfer next summer, and parting ways with the midfielder in the coming days seems to be the right decision.
