Tottenham have not given up hope on signing Manchester City winger Savinho
Tottenham Hotspur have had interest in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze for some time now, with Thomas Frank keen on bolstering his attacking options in midfield after a failed Morgan Gibbs-White pursuit.
Spurs have been in constant talks for the England international in recent days. The club had agreed personal terms with Eberechi Eze and also reached an agreement in principle with Crystal Palace. However, the Eagles had not yet given the green light as they wanted their creative midfielder to be involved in their European encounter against Frederikstad on Thursday evening.
In the wake of Kai Havertz’s serious-looking knee injury, Arsenal decided to step up interest in Eze. They hijacked Tottenham’s deal for the 27-year-old on Wednesday evening, leaving the White Hart Lane faithful in total meltdown. Missing out on Eze has seen Daniel Levy receive a lot of stick from the Spurs fans. Given the heat Levy has been facing for the failed pursuit of the Palace ace, a top signing may be the only way to win back trust from our loyal supporters.
Spurs still pushing to sign Manchester City winger
The Lilywhites have been in the market for attackers ever since Son Heung-min’s departure and James Maddison’s ACL rupture. Alongside Eze, they have been pursuing Manchester City winger Savinho.
Spurs have offered Savinho the chance to join Thomas Frank’s forces this summer. The Brazilian, who enjoyed a decent debut campaign in the Premier League last term, is also keen to move north London. Currently, the 21-year-old attacker’s move to Tottenham is being blocked by some important officials at Manchester City. However, reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano via Youtube claims Spurs intend to try again for Savinho as they are pushing to bag his signature.
“For Savinho, don’t forget that Tottenham are still trying. It’s complicated; there are important people on Manchester City’s board who are blocking the deal and pushing to keep Savinho,” Fabrizio Romano said on his official YouTube channel.
Tottenham increase their bid to get Savinho
As per latest reports, the Hotspur Way chiefs have now upped their offer to around €80million to sign Savinho from Man City. The Brazil international’s agents are still in UK trying to sort out his future.
It is not yet clear whether City boss Pep Guardiola would be open to letting the left-footed winger leave the Etihad Stadium in midst of the 2025/26 season. The South American trickster wants to join Tottenham is good news for the fans, but City are reluctant to let him go after he showed flashes of his potential last term.
Spurs increasing their bid to land Savinho reeks desperation from Levy and his team.
