Tottenham Hotspur are aiming to land Real Madrid ace Rodrygo in the coming days
Tottenham enduring an underwhelming transfer window would be a fair reflection on how the summer has gone. The Lilywhites managed to sign just one first-team player on a permanent deal in Mohammed Kudus. And the North London club run a huge risk of getting back to square one if the squad suffers from an injury crisis yet again after everything that happened last season.
The Lilywhites are still looking to bring in a new left-winger that could replace Heung-Min Son this season. The South Korean is an undisputed legend of the club and replacing him was always going to be a tough task. But since the 32-year-old departed N17 for pastures new earlier this month, Spurs have not managed to enter concrete talks with any player as a possible replacement.

Daniel Levy and Co. came close to sealing a deal for Manchester City winger Savinho for this season. The Brazil international was also keen on the move as he aimed for regular game time. But it looks likely that the 21-year-old will stay at the Etihad Stadium for the time being as the Cityzens have no intentions of letting the talented winger go on such short notice.
Tottenham turn their heads to Real Madrid ace Rodrygo for a potential transfer
Tottenham do not have a natural left-winger in their ranks yet as they look to compete hard on all four fronts this season. Thomas Frank is utilising Mathys Tel as a left-winger as of now due to the lack of options on that side. The Danish tactician relies heavily on his wide players to create chances and score goals, so Daniel Levy will need to find a way to bring in a quality player quickly.
According to Defensa Central, Tottenham are the only club that have approached Real Madrid to sign Rodrygo in the coming days. The La Liga giants are open to let Rodrygo leave before the transfer window shuts, provided that the talented winger joins on a season-long loan and returns back to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The aforementioned report also states that sending the Brazilian on a season-long loan would preserve his valuation, and Real Madrid would then be able to sell the winger for the quoted €100m price tag. It is clear that he is no longer a part of Xabi Alonso’s plans, and Spurs will need to cover his full salary if they are to land him before the transfer window shuts.
One should not have any doubts about the quality Rodrygo possesses. The Brazil international is one of the best wingers in the world, and his impact on the pitch is clear for all to see. The 24-year-old thrives in transitions due to his elite ball-carrying ability and his world-class dribbling. Not only that, but the Real Madrid star also has a strong weak foot, allowing him to play anywhere in the forward line.
There is no doubt that Rodrygo will shine at N17. He is also a serial winner, and Thomas Frank needs a few of those in his squad to build on the Europa League success this season. The 24-year-old also has the experience of playing in top competitions, and has often thrived in big games. So adding him to the ranks will surely make Spurs serious contenders to mount up a challenge for a place in the top four.
