Tottenham forward Brennan Johnson has endured a strong start to the new Premier League season. The Wales international has clearly picked up where he left off last season and fans are excited that the 24-year-old can prove to be a vital player under Thomas Frank in this campaign.

Thomas Frank has also managed to utilise Johnson in different positions this season, and that has clearly unlocked his potential even more by the looks of it. His smart finish against Burnley, followed up by his cutback goal against Manchester City, showed that he has unlocked the ability to be in the right place at the right time.

The arrival of Mohammed Kudus has forced Brennan Johnson to play on the left-flank for Tottenham. However, that does not seem like a problem for the Welshman as he has clearly mastered the position and has managed to also get on the scoresheet in two successive games. With all the focus being on Kudus, it is Johnson that has benefited the most…given that the defenders are too busy to close down on the Ghana international.
Now, Troy Deeney also believes that Johnson will endure a fantastic campaign once again. Writing in his BBC column, Deeney said,
“He was fantastic again. He looks like he’s going to have an unbelievable season because Kudus is going to take a lot of the focus of the teams coming from that right-hand side on that left foot.”
The ex-pro added,
“The pace and power he shows is unbelievable. That’s two in two for Johnson. I thought he was excellent against Man City.”

The ex-Watford striker believes that Johnson will endure a brilliant campaign once again, all thanks to Mohammed Kudus. Deeney suggests that Kudus’ ability to attract defenders will free up space for the Welshman on the other side, and he could use his ‘unbelievable’ pace and power to put the ball in the back of the net.
Fans will hope that Brennan Johnson manages to continue his good form in the upcoming games. The 24-year-old is already looking to maintain his place in the starting eleven under Thomas Frank. And if he continues to perform like he did in the first two games of the Premier League season, then there is no reason why he will not be a key player for the Lilywhites.
