Tottenham Hotspur risk facing a last minute search for suitors for Yves Bissouma
Not only have Tottenham failed to bring in new players quickly in the summer, but they have also not managed to sell some of the deadwood that remains at N17. There are clearly a few players that Thomas Frank does not want at the club. Yet Daniel Levy has not managed to sell them and generate funds for potential arrivals.
One of the players that has already fallen down the pecking order under Thomas Frank is Yves Bissouma. The Mali international was recently banished from the first-team squad for Spurs’ game against PSG in the UEFA Super Cup final due to disciplinary issues. And he has not featured for the North London club since then.

This is in line with how the 28-year-old’s career at N17 has carved out to be. Bissouma has endured a ‘stop-start’ stint at Spurs and it is fair to say that he has failed to reach his potential at Hotspur Way. With time running out in the transfer window, one may not be surprised if the Lilywhites are trying their best to potentially find him a new club for this season.
Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma set to stay put as Galatasaray move fails
All eyes are on Tottenham as we approach the business end of the transfer window. Fans are expecting the Lilywhites to sign quality players before the market closes. But there is one more issue that needs to be addressed: selling the unwanted players to generate funds for new arrivals. It is important for the North London club to sell the unwanted players to cut their losses.
It was reported earlier that Spurs midfielder Yves Bissouma was on his way to Galatasaray after the Lilywhites agreed to send him on loan to Turkey. The deal also included a mandatory buy option, which meant that the Mali international’s career at N17 was reaching a dead-end.
However, it seems like Bissouma is set to stay put at N17 and not move to Turkey. As per Sacha Tavolieri (via X), Galatasaray are concerned about Yves Bissouma’s physical issues and are planning to not proceed with the deal to sign the 28-year-old on loan. The Turkish giants are instead choosing to go into the market once again and look for an alternate target.
This might just alert English clubs to make a move for the Mali international if his move to Turkey falls through. It was also reported earlier that Everton were interested in landing Bissouma. And David Moyes saw him as an ideal player that could bolster the midfield for the Toffees. With the clock ticking on, it remains to be seen whether a move to Merseyside is in the offing.
