Tottenham defender Luka Vuskovic is happy to seal loan move to newly-promoted Bundesliga club Hamburger SV
With just a couple of days left in the summer transfer window, there is expected to be both incomings and outgoings at Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs have agreed a deal with RB Leipzig for the signing of Xavi Simons, beating Chelsea to the player’s signature. After missing out on targets such as Eberechi Eze and Nico Paz, Thomas Frank is finally about to land a creative player in Simons, who can operate both as a No.10 and out wide.
On the departures front, Yves Bissouma has agreed personal terms with Galatasaray ahead of a potential move. The Mali international has fallen out of favour under Thomas Frank and appears to be the next player to leave the club.

Tottenham defender happy to join Hamburger SV on loan
One player who has left Spurs on loan is Luka Vuskovic. The highly-rated central defender has sealed a move to newly-promoted Bundesliga club Hamburger SV for the 2025/26 season. The Croatian international, who spent 18 months on loan at Radomiak Radom and KVC Westerlo before arriving at White Hart Lane last month, had made a strong impression during this summer’s pre-season.
After evaluating his performances in the pre-season, Frank decided that another loan move would benefit Vuskovic. Having already agreed personal terms with Hamburg in the first weeks of August, his departure to Germany became official today. The teenager was pictured at Hamburg’s training ground on Thursday after completing his medical. He has been handed the number 44 shirt, which is his brother Mario’s number. Mario is serving a drug suspension until 2026, so getting his brother’s number has only added to the special feeling surrounding the transfer.
“It is something special for me to play for HSV,” Vuskovic was quoted by Kicker.
“Since my brother has already played here and told me a lot about the club, but also because of the history of the club and the conditions here. I am very happy.”

Vuskovic has attributes to thrive in the Bundesliga
Vuskovic has been keen to join Hamburg since last month and his wish has been fulfilled. The 18-year-old will hope to get regular opportunities to continue his development, and Bundesliga’s robust and pacey style of football should suit his defending.
Frank and Tottenham will be monitoring the towering Croat’s performances in Hamburg colours, hoping the loan move works out well. Vuskovic would be hoping to get experience under his belt and return to north London next year more equipped to fight for a place in the senior squad.
