Tottenham have managed to save face late in the transfer window after announcing the signing of Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig on a long-term deal. The Netherlands international was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea for most parts of the summer, with the player agreeing personal terms with the West London club as well.
However, the deal could not get over the line in time, and this gave Spurs an opportunity to lure the 22-year-old to N17 instead. “Yeah, I cannot wait to start the game, to play in the Premier League, so I’m really happy.”
The ex-RB Leipzig star is currently on international duty with Netherlands for the next two weeks. So, he will need to wait for some time before he can make his competitive debut for Spurs in the Premier League. All eyes will be on the 22-year-old as he looks to play a vital part in helping Thomas Frank compete hard on all four fronts this season.
