Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has decided to snub Tottenham and move to Bayern Munich

Transfer deadline day always brings its own drama as something unexpected is bound to happen sooner or later. As of now, Tottenham fans are waiting anxiously as the club readies itself for one or two new players before the window shuts in a few hours’ time. And it looks like the Lilywhites are still exploring an opportunity to bolster the squad as Thomas Frank looks to build on the Europa League success.

The need for a new striker might not seem urgent as of now after Richarlison’s brilliant start to the season. The Brazil international has certainly repaid Thomas Frank’s faith in him by bagging two goals and an assist in the first three Premier League games of the campaign. However, there is a strong possibility that the 28-year-old is going through another one of those purple patches at N17.

Tottenham are ready to miss out on Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson.

On the other hand, Dominic Solanke has still not managed to make an impact under Thomas Frank. The England international has endured a slow start to the season as recovers from an ankle injury. Solanke admitted earlier this year that he found life tough during the initial months at N17, but it is fair to say that he managed to prove his worth during the latter stages of the season.

However, both players are quite injury-prone, so bringing in a new striker just makes sense as Thomas Frank does not want to risk playing an inexperienced player up top.

Tottenham made a move for Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson

Tottenham are looking to bring in a new striker that could provide depth up top and always keep Dominic Solanke on his toes. Signing a new #9 would certainly enhance the quality of the attack significantly as Thomas Frank looks to compete hard on all four fronts this season.

Spurs enquired about Chelsea star Nicolas Jackson for a potential deadline day deal after the Senegal international’s proposed move to Bayern Munich fell through. As per Graeme Bailey (via TBR Football),

“Chelsea have brought Marc Guiu back to the club from Sunderland, and Bayern have wasted little time in opening talks for him. We can confirm that both Newcastle and Tottenham enquired about Jackson in the last 48 hours, but the Senegalese striker has made it clear he wants to move to Munich.”

TBR Football’s reliable journalist confirms that Tottenham made an attempt to sign Nicolas Jackson in the last 48 hours. However, the Senegal international has already made up is mind and is only looking to join Bayern Munich in the coming hours.

Signing the Chelsea striker was always going to be a longshot at best, as the Blues would never consider selling him to a direct rival. Now, Daniel Levy must shift his focus to other alternatives if Spurs are serious about bolstering their attack for this season. Signing a new striker would indicate that the Lilywhites mean business this summer, and are not messing around anymore.
